Chang Can't Overcome Holland's Nines

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Andrew Chang
Andrew Chang

Maxx Holland opened to 1,200,000 from early position and Andrew Chang shoved for around 7,600,000 from the hijack. Once it got back to Holland, he called with a slightly covering stack.

Andrew Chang: A8 All in
Maxx Holland: 99

Chang needed to connect with his ace or find some diamonds, but didn't find much to work with on the 24K flop. A Q on the turn left him with just three outs, and the 3 river wasn't what he needed, which meant he was eliminated.

The window card instantly gave Plant the lead with a pair on the 986 flop, evoking a groan from Tardif who started to get up from his seat. The turn 6 and river 10 fell without helping Tardif. Tardif left the floor as Plant added the chips to his growing stack.

The End of Law

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Ryan Law, in the small blind, opened with a 4,300,000 bet leaving only 250,000 behind. Big Blind player James Gauley asked for a count of his bet and after a few seconds announced all-in sending Law to the tank.

Law apologized and asked for some time to consider his option. But he took a lot of time, so much that, Carlos Saez Martinez started to complain. The table explained to Martinez that since there was so much at stake, they were willing to wait for him to consider his options. In the end, everyone agreed to give Law one more minute before the floor was called.

The floor was finally called and Law asked for a verbal countdown. At the very last second, Law announced a call.

Ryan Law: K6 All in
James Gauley: Q10

When the hands were tabled, Gauley was gracious enough to comfort Law saying that he was ahead. And Law was ahead when the board ran A738 but the dreaded river fell 10 giving Gauley a pair and ending Law's deep run instantaneously.
