Steven Takes a Chunk Out of Suvarna

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Brandon Steven had just lost a small pot to Alex Kulev, where he defended his big blind, called a small bet on the flop before the action checked through to showdown.

Steven showed ace-high on the KJ726 board but was bested by Kulev's 97. However, he rebounded strongly on the next deal.

Santhosh Suvarna raised from middle position, with Klemens Roiter calling from the button. Steven tagged along from the small blind.

Steven checked on the 1043 flop, prompting Suvarna to continue for 24,000. Roiter called but Steven then raised to 114,000. Suvarna contemplated his options, and ended up calling. Roiters got out of the way.

Steven sized up to 167,000 on the Q turn, which pushed his opponent out of the pot.
