Ponakovs chose to check the K♣10♥9♥ flop, but Lingham wasn't interested in giving his opponent a free turn card. Instead, he bet 15,000, which Ponakovs called.
Ponakovs check-called another bet of 30,000 on the turn 2♠ before the river rolled off a third heart. Ponakovs again elected to check, and Lingham, who didn't like the look of the river, checked behind.
Lingham was correct with his suspicions as Ponakovs showed A♥3♥ for a rivered flush. A dismayed Lingham then showed the table that he had flopped the nut straight with queen-jack, receiving some plaudits from his tablemates for not losing more chips on the river.
