Weisman Looks to Regain Title; Final 7 Players Return for $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Day 3

Dylan Weisman

Action will resume at noon for Day 3 of Event #42: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed at the 2025 World Series of Poker hosted by Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.

After two action-packed days, a field of 1,932 players has been whittled down to just seven, all of whom are ready to enter the poker arena and battle for the lion's share of the $1,700,160 prize pool and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Headlining Day 3 is a former champion of this event, Dylan Weisman. Starting the day sixth of seven, with a stack of 3,235,000, Weisman is the last remaining player to have previously won a bracelet. The 25K Fantasy Draft player has two to his name, one of which was for winning this very same event at the 2021 WSOP for $166,461.

However, it will be Carlos Leiva leading the charge into the final day, returning with a monstrous stack of 10,230,000, good for 102 big blinds at the start of play. This is the Argentine's deepest run in a WSOP event to date, but he has plenty of experience under his belt, as evidenced by his lifetime earnings of just under $1,000,000.

One glance in his rear-view mirror, though, and Leiva will see six talented opponents equally eager to get their hands on the top prize of $237,852 and the bracelet.

For Canadian player Kyle Rosnes, this run already assures he will improve on his best live score to date, and with the seventh-place prize guaranteed, he will almost double his lifetime earnings. Coming into Day 3 in fifth place, he will no doubt be looking further up the payouts and hoping to add a significant sum to his current poker returns.

Weisman Comes Out Swinging

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

The first hand of the day, Dylan Weisman limped in the hijack, before seeing the small blind complete and then the big blind, Florian Ribouchon, raise to 400,000. Only Weisman called, and the players were off to see a flop.

The dealer fanned out 24K and Ribouchon started with a check. Weisman didn't need a second invitation to take over the betting lead, doing so for 350,000, which Ribouchon called.

The turn brought the 9, and when Ribouchon checked for a second time, Weisman slid in a bet of 1,700,000, getting the quick fold from his opponent.

Dylan Weisman limped in early position and Joshua Palmer raised to 450,000 on his left. Florian Ribouchon responded with a raise of his own to 1,950,000. Weisman folded and Palmer called.

The 479 hit the felt and Ribouchon opted for an all-in bet. Palmer made the call.

Joshua Palmer: J1096

Palmer had a pair and a flush draw, picking up even more outs on the Q turn, but he bricked with the 5 river and aces were good for Ribouchon.

Rosnes Picks Up More Valuable Chips

Level 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Kyle Rosnes

Dylan Weisman limped on the button, the small blind completed, and Kyle Rosnes checked his option in the big blind.

When the blinds both checked on a 333 flop, Weisman stabbed for one big blind, betting out 100,000. Only Resnos called from the big blind, and both players then checked the 5 turn.

Resnos checked for a third time on the 6 river, and Weisman elected to apply some pressure, putting out a bet of 550,000.

This put Resnos into the tank. Spending time looking at his stack, the board, his opponent, his cards; before settling on a call.

Weisman announced king-high, and Resnos turned over J887 to lay claim to the pot.

Leiva Catches Ribouchon's Bluff; An Overwhelming Chip Leader

Carlos Leiva

Brian McKain raised to 325,000. Florian Ribouchon called on the button, Hooman Nikzad called from the small, and Carlos Leiva called from the big.

Four ways, the wheel spun 92Q. Nikzad checked, and Leiva took the initiative with a bet of 450,000. Only Ribouchon called.

The turn brought 4 and Leiva checked. Ribouchon pushed forward a bet of 1,500,000 and Ribouchon called.

The river completed with the 3 and Leiva checked again. Ribouchon cut out 4,000,000 from his stack and Leiva made a pained call.

Ribouchon tabled the Q10J2 in defeat, causing Leiva to quickily show his AJ87 for a flush.

Florian Ribouchon Eliminated in 7th Place ($34,761)

Level 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Florian Ribouchon

Carlos Leiva limped in early position, which encouraged Dylan Weisman to do the same, two seats to his left. Action then folded to Florian Ribouchon in the small blind, who raised to 600,000. Leiva folded, but Weisman then back-raised, putting Ribouchon all in. Ribouchon called, and the cards were turned on their backs.

Florian Ribouchon: KK43 All in
Dylan Weisman: AAA5

The flop 2102 was of little help to Ribouchon; both players flopped a flush draw, but it was Weisman with the higher draw.

The turn 7 meant Ribouchon had to hit one of the two remaining kings. Alas, the river 5 sealed his fate.

Weisman pulled in a crucial pot, and Ribouchon headed for the exit.
