Christopher Vitch, the returning champion in the event, was one of two players at risk in a three-person pot, putting his last 43,500 chips on the table right after the dinner break.

The board runout 5♦7♣A♣K♦9♣ had Vitch tied with Tran with two pair on the turn, but Taylor had a ton of outs with her double-gutter straight and diamond flush draws. Vitch hit the top straight on the river to get a new lease on his tournament life.

Jesse Lonis raised to 5,000 from under the gun and saw calls from Marcus Shepard in early position, Yuan Yu in middle position and Yuhong Liu on the button. Robert Matuszewski then raised to 17,000 from the small blind, and all players called except for Shepard,

The flop came 2♦8♥Q♦ and Matuszewski moved all in, which triggered every other player to also move their stacks into the middle. Liu had all players covered, and various side pots were pulled in.

Liu was way ahead with his set of queens and needed to dodge a diamond to scoop the massive pot and send three players to the rail. The 4♠ dropped on the turn, and when the 2♠ came on the river and filled Liu up, he scooped the pot and sent Lonis, Matuszewski, and Yu packing.

Alongside some of poker's familiar faces, 2013 Main Event Champion Ryan Riess doubled up versus Tolga Demirel.

As the action was picked up, on a flop of 10♦8♦2♦ Demirel bet 2,500 from the button and face a check-raise from Riess to 7,500 who glared at Demirel who called.

On the turn of the Q♦ Riess checked and put 50,000 in front of him enough to cover Riess who snap-called.

Tolga Demirel: 9♦5♠4♠3♠

Riess's nut flush had Demirel dominated with the river 6♠ changing nothing.

Hart was in the lead heading to the turn with two pair, and Owen holding the nut flush draw and a gut-shot straight draw looked to improve to eliminate Hart.

The turn brought a change in the lead with the 4♥ giving Owen two pair. Hart needed to fade a diamond, a deuce or a straight card to stay alive.

Fade he could not as the 2♥ gave Hart a full house to best his opponent's two pair and doubled through Owen.
