Day 2 action has come to a close here in Event #42: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2025 World Series of Poker, hosted by the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. Of the 102 runners who started the day, only 7 players will return for the third and final day on Sunday. The remaining competitors will be battling it out for a piece of the $1,700,160 prize pool, with the first place prize of $237,852 going to the winner.

The overwhelming chip leader heading into Day 3 is Carlos Leiva of Argentina, who bagged an impressive 10,230,000. Leiva ascended to the top of the counts late in the evening, first by eliminating Ernest Essad in tenth place on the final table bubble. He then continued his momentum by knocking out Bradley Anderson in ninth place and Eric Buchman in eighth.

Sitting in second is Hooman Nikzad, who ended the day with 7,940,000 and rounding out the podium is Joshua Palmer with 6,180,000.

Dylan Weisman (3,235,000) is still in the mix at the final table and is certainly no stranger to the game. He looks to add a third pot-limit Omaha bracelet to his resume.

Rosnes Scores a Big Pot

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Casey Brown limped from under the gun and the small blind, Dylan Weisman called, while the big blind, Kyle Rosnes, checked. The flop came out with 454, and Rosnes led out for a bet of 80,000. Weisman folded, and Brown called.

On the turn 10, Rosnes kept up the aggression and bet out 100,000, and received the call.

The river J had Rosnes lead again for 285,000, and Brown pondered and then made the call.

Rosnes showed J943 for the full house and the win.

The action began on the first hand after the dinner break, with Eran Carmi starting a train of three successive all-ins. Frank Brannan was second in the pool, Tsz Shing dove in last. Carmi had more chips than the others.

Frank Brannan: KQJ7All in

The board ran out 6JKA2. None of the threesome had hearts, so Carmi's queen-ten for the Broadway straight took down the hand and sent two players packing.

Ace-High no Good

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Carlos Leiva raised from under the gun to 105,000, and Dylan Weisman made the call from the big blind.

Immediately, one of the players announced, "Are you kidding me?"

Weisman joked, "I didn't think it was that bad of a call".

The rest of the table stated, "He is watching the hockey game," and they all laughed.

The flop came out with 597, and Weisman took the lead for 90,000, and Leiva flat called.

On the turn 8, Weismann upped the bet to 275,000, and again Leiva called.

The river K had both players check, and Weismann announced ace-high and mucked when he saw Leiva's hand of A764 for a pair of sevens and the win,

Double-dipping Discussion

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Ryan Riess, who was 15th in chips at the most recent break, and Zachary Fischer, the shortest stack remaining in the event, have been talking about registering for another WSOP event while Day 2 of this event continues.

One option they have discussed is to wait until the one-hour dinner break — if Fischer can last that long — and start playing in the other event.

They asked a tournament director, who told them multitabling isn't against WSOP rules.

"Of course not, they want that rake," Riess joked.

Mike "Texas Mike" Moncek made some noise earlier in the series when he multitabled a Day 1 of the Mystery Millions and an eight-handed hold'em event.

Ernest Essad limped in early position, Russel McClean completed in the small blind, and Dylan Weisman checked in the big blind.

The flop of 7A3 checked through to the Q turn. McClean checked, Weisman bet 30,000, Essad called, and McClean got out of the way.

On the 2 river, Weisman announced "pot" and slid out a bet of 140,000. Essad thought for a moment before surrendering his hand.
