Day 2 action has come to a close here in Event #42: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2025 World Series of Poker, hosted by the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. Of the 102 runners who started the day, only 7 players will return for the third and final day on Sunday. The remaining competitors will be battling it out for a piece of the $1,700,160 prize pool, with the first place prize of $237,852 going to the winner.
The overwhelming chip leader heading into Day 3 is Carlos Leiva of Argentina, who bagged an impressive 10,230,000. Leiva ascended to the top of the counts late in the evening, first by eliminating Ernest Essad in tenth place on the final table bubble. He then continued his momentum by knocking out Bradley Anderson in ninth place and Eric Buchman in eighth.
Sitting in second is Hooman Nikzad, who ended the day with 7,940,000 and rounding out the podium is Joshua Palmer with 6,180,000.
Dylan Weisman (3,235,000) is still in the mix at the final table and is certainly no stranger to the game. He looks to add a third pot-limit Omaha bracelet to his resume.

Day 1 chip leader John Riordan couldn't continue his hot streak and was eliminated in 45th. Mike Leah started the day with a top-ten stack, but exited in 39th. Right behind him was Zhen Chen in 34th, who began the day second in the counts.
Other well-known players to fall on Day 2 include Ryan Riess (30th), Benny Chen (25th), and Frank Brannan (23rd).

Action will begin on Day 3 at 12 p.m. local time on Sunday, June 15, at the Horseshoe, where the event will play down to a winner. The tournament will resume in Level 28 with blinds at 50,000/100,000 with a 100,000 big blind ante. Levels will be 60-minutes in length and there will be a 15-minute break every two levels.

With blinds increased at the last level of the night Eric Buchman moved all in from the big blind for 610,000 and was called by Carlos Leiva under the gun.

Buchman had managed to ride out his luck to the unofficial final table, and was at risk of his tournament life. He could not find any help on a board of 9♠6♥3♦5♥K♣ giving Leiva two pair and Buchman's chips in the process. Buchman collected $26,562 for his deep run in the event.
