A Painful Way to Depart

Stewart Morrison

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

We joined the action with both Vicente Pena and Jeffrey Rogers' cards on their back, having got all the money in preflop.

Jeffrey Rogers: Q♣Q♥ All in
Vicente Pena: A♥J♣

It was Rogers at risk, but this pot was for almost all of Pena's stack, also.

The flop 8♣8♠K♠ was a good start for Rogers, and although the 8♦ gave Pena one more out, it was still looking good for him.

The river was a cruel blow, though, coming the A♠. This gave Pena almost a full double-up but, in doing so, sent Rogers to the rail.
