Peters Sets the Trap, Kornuth Gets Out of It

It appeared to be a four-bet pot shaping up between David Peters and Chance Kornuth with nearly 300,000 in the middle going to the flop of K♣10♣3♦. Peters led out with a bet of 90,000 from the big blind and Kornuth called from the cutoff.

The turn was the 5♣ which slowed the action as both players checked to the K♠ on the river. Peters checked again but Kornuth wisely checked it back. Peters flipped over 10♠10♦ for a full house and Kornuth relinquished his cards.

Hunichen Pushes Lonis Out

Jesse Lonis opened to 22,000 from under the gun and picked up three callers along the way including Chris Hunichen in the big blind. The flop came J♣9♠5♦ and Lonis continued with a bet of 44,000. Hunichen was the only player to call and the 5♠ paired the board on the turn.

Both players checked this time and the 7♦ landed on the river. Hunichen led out with a large bet of 225,000 and Lonis was forced to send his cards to the muck.

Brandon Steven and Alex Kulev were heads-up in a pot with around 250,000 in the middle and the board reading 8♣7♥5♦7♠. Steven checked to Kulev on his left who bet 155,000. Steven just called and the 5♣ rolled off on the river.

Steven checked again and Kulev gave it some thought but checked it back. Steven flipped over 8♥8♦ for a full house and Kulev was not going to beat that one.

Tollerene Traps Hunichen

Chris Hunichen opened the button and Ben Tollerene three-bet to 150,000 in the big blind. Hunichen called.

Tollerene checked on the flop of 5♦6♥A♣ and Hunichen checked back. Tollerene checked again on the 4♠ turn and Hunichen bet 115,000. Tollerene called.

Tollerene checked once more on the 9♣ river and Hunichen bet 225,000. Tollerene used a time extension before raising to 1,107,000 with just a few chips behind. Hunichen went deep into the tank and used three time banks before folding to hang onto slightly less.

"Must just have aces," Hunichen remarked.

Belcher Can't Bluff Oganyan; Kulev Back In

Matthew Belcher opened to 20,000 and Aram Oganyan put out a raise to 62,000 before verbally announcing 80,000. A floor ruling determined that the raise would stay at 62,000. Belcher called.

Belcher checked on the J♥6♣3♣ flop and Oganyan checked back. Both players checked again on the Q♣ turn and Belcher then bet 60,000 on the 8♠ turn. Oganyan quickly called, leading Belcher to muck without showing.

Around the same time, Alex Kulev became the first player eliminated from the tournament before buying back in on a second and final bullet.

A completed board of K♥J♥7♠Q♣4♣ was spread across the felt with a little over 200,000 in the middle. Leon Sturm checked from the big blind and Matthias Eibinger dropped in a bet of 150,000 on the button.

Sturm check-raised all in for 368,000 and Eibinger eventually called. Eibinger turned over K♣J♦ for two pair but Sturm had A♥10♣ for Broadway to earn a double up.

After losing a good chunk of his stack recently, Ben Heath was back in the saddle from the big blind when faced with a raise to 25,000 by Barak Wisbrod on the button. Heath just defended his big blind and the dealer fanned the flop of Q♦6♣2♠.

Heath checked to Wisbrod who continued with a bet of 20,000 and Heath called. The turn was the 9♣ and both players checked to the 8♦ on the river. Heath led out with a bet of 125,000 this time and Wisbrod wasted little time before folding.
