Patel and Snider Chop up Zaichenko; McCormick "Expected Better"

Level 9

Stud Hi-Lo

Andrey Zaichenko: 3Xx / 310410 / Xx
Bradley Snider: 776 / 3AAJ
Eli Elezra: XxXx / 79 - folded on fourth street
Suketu Patel: 887 / 3452

Action was picked up four-ways to fourth street. Snider bet, Elezra folded, Patel called, and Zaichenko called.

On fifth, Snider led with open aces, Patel raised, and both Zaichenko and Snider called.

The action checked to Patel on sixth who bet, and both opponents called.

Patel fired again on seventh which both opponents quickly looked up. Patel revealed a pair of eights and seven-low, Zaichenko had two pair, tens and threes, which was bested by the two pair of Snider, aces and sevens. Patel and Snider chopped up the chips from a visibly frustrated Zaichenko.

Tablemate Tom McCormick joked, "I expected better from you [Patel]. Just a seven low?" referring to Patel's extremely dangerous board which did not seem to deter either Zaichenko or Snider.

Level 10

Stud Hi-Lo

Ryan Remmes: A77 / QA2A
Glenn Engelbert: KK3 / 9K86
Ryan Johnson: XxXx / 248J / Xx - folded on seventh street

Action was picked up three-ways to fifth street as Remmes checked to Engelbert who bet, Johnson called, and Remmes called.

Stann Misreads Board, Schindler Profits

Level 10

Omaha Hi-Lo

Maximilian Schindler raised under the gun, Dave Stann called in the next seat over, and Rob Hollink defended his big blind. Schindler continued with a bet on the 936 flop. Schindler called, while Hollink check-folded.

The K turn and 3 river were also bet by Schindler, with Stann calling to showdown. Schindler tabled AK33 for quad threes and was expecting to get the pot uncontested with the nuts.

Stann, however, was under the impression that the nine on the board was in fact an eight, and he showed QJ75 to claim the non-existant low half of the pot.

Chino Rheem pointed out his mistake, and Stann quickly apologized and mucked his cards.

Arnold Takes Out Tarber as Deeb Plays Piles

Level 10
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Omaha Hi-Lo

David Tarbet put in his final 3,000 from middle position. Pearce Arnold then raised on the button, and William Smith called in the big blind.

Arnold placed a continuation-bet on the 94K flop, which was enough to let Smith muck his cards.

David Tarbet: QQ63 All in
Pearce Arnold: KK85

Tarbet's queens stood no chance against the top set of Arnold, and he was eliminated after the J10 runout.

Shaun Deeb was also at this table, sitting on a six-figure stack.

Sternheimer Makes the Right Call for Half; Hellmuth Arrives

Level 10
Philip Sternheimer
Philip Sternheimer

Stud Hi-Lo

Steve Chanthabouasy: A22 / 7473
Philip Sternheimer: KJJ / 5Q8Q

Action picked up on fifth street as Chanthabouasy led with open sevens and Sternheimer, fresh off his victory in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Championship, made the call.

On sixth, Sternheimer led with open queens and Chanthabouasy called.

Sternheimer checked on seventh with a little under one bet behind, and Chanthabouasy bet. Sternheimer would go deep into the tank as he made a decision for his tournament life.

"Do you have a two-way hand or a one-way hand?" questioned Sternheimer. "If I call can I sweat your hand?"

Sternheimer eventually made the call for his final 2,500 and got the good news as Chanthabouasy had two pair and a seven low, while Sternheimer had a better two pair to survive with half.

During the hand, Phil Hellmuth took his seat at the same table and immediately went over to Mike Matusow at an adjacent table to tell a bad beat story.

Fuchs showed A943 for the nut low and a flush. "It's all yours," Schwartz said as he tossed his cards into the muck.

"F*ck 'em up, Carol!" Nick Guagenti encouraged his neighbor as she stacked up her chips.
