Brett Lim is in second place for the final day

At 2 p.m. Las Vegas time, seven hopefuls out of an enormous 7.575 entry field in Event #48: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship will return to their seats inside of the Horseshoe Event Center to determine a champion. Six Americans and a lone Canadian are battling for the biggest slice of the $6,666,000 prize pool and the duo atop the leaderboard has already gained a major advantage over everyone else.

Dennis Carlson leads the way with 49,250,000 in chips and the only one close to that figure happens to be Brett Lim, who has 44,825,000 at his disposal. Both are in a prime position to become the latest winner of a gold bracelet of the 2025 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.

Jose Boloqui and Jason Reels are separated by a single chip and ICM considerations might come into play, as they themselves also have a solid margin over their nearest competitor, Elan Lepovic. The lone Canadian left in contention is Lawrence Rabie, who has 16 big blinds to show for his efforts up until now.

Far shortest stack and in need of a miracle is Manish Madan, but the ODB Bonus Player already has a fantastic comeback story to tell. During the later stages of Day 4, Madan raised for the vast majority of his stack and was then jammed upon by Reels, who prematurely exposed pocket kings. Madan reluctantly folded and dropped to three big blinds, which he spun back up.

The same situation may very well happen again, as the 1,850,000 chips of the table short stack represent fewer than four big blinds, with 45 minutes remaining in Level 35, which features blinds of 250,000/500,000 with a 500,000 big blind ante.
