There were roughly 1,200,000 in the pot on 6♠4♠K♠Q♦, Scotty Nguyen bet 400,000 on the turn from the small blind and Lawrence Shipman called in the big blind.
Nguyen announced all in for 425,000 when the Q♥ fell on the river and got quickly called. Nguyen tabled K♣10♦ but Shipman tabled A♠Q♣ and eliminated Nguyen from the tournament.
Short stack, Cesar Machado shoved under the gun for his last 530,000 and Thomas Reynolds reshoved next to him. The rest of the table folded and they turned over their cards:
Cesar Machado: 3♥3♣
Thomas Reynolds: K♠K♦
The board revealed 9♦Q♣K♥4♥7♦ and Reynolds improved a set of kings to bust Machado from the event.
Debora Martin raised from early position to 400,000, Timothy Tenpas three-bet to 1,200,000 from the cutoff, and Martin moved all in for the rest of her stack for 2,003,000, and Tenpas made the call.
Debora Martin: 9♦9♣
Timothy Tenpas: K♠J♠
The board was A♦4♥A♣J♥10♥, and Tenpas won with two pair,
A floorman was called to Table #503 following a potential out-of-turn action. If Lyons contested against all of his tables mates, he was the player all-in and at risk for 1,460,000 from middle position against David Campbell to his right.
Patrick Lyons: 7♦7♣
David Campbell: A♥J♣
Lyons secured a double-up on the 5♠8♠K♥5♥K♣ board. While a few players continued to argue after the hand, the floor issued a friendly warning to keep things calm, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces, and play moved on.
The flop was 8♣8♠3♠ when Qiwen Chen at risk flipped over his cards against Scott Lazar on the button.
Qiwen Chen: Q♦Q♥
Scott Lazar: K♠J♠
Chen was on his way to double up with queens, but the K♥ turn gave the best pair to Lazar, who even hit a flush with the 9♠ river to send Chen to the rail.
On the button, Christian Hernandez raised and Patrick Blackwell shoved for 4,060,000. Hernandez eventually called with slightly less and was at risk:
Christian Hernandez: A♣Q♠
Patrick Blackwell: K♣K♠
Hernandez was in terrible shape for a double up and the board 7♣K♦6♦5♦8♠ immediatly improved Blackwell's hand into a set of kings, sending Hernandez out.
Shad Morris raised in the hijack to 250,000, David Campbell called in the cutoff, and William Gibbons called in the big blind.
The flop came 3♦6♦2♣, and action checked to Campbell who bet 300,000 and Gibbons was the only caller. Both players checked when the 8♥ hit the turn. Gibbons decided to lead for 400,000 on the K♦ river but found himself in a spot when Campbell raised him to 1,000,000. Gibbons went deep into the tank and eventually called.
Campbell tabled A♦Q♠ for a stone bluff and Gibbons tabled J♦9♦ for a flush. Campbell said "you got as flush have you, you can't lay that down".
