Matusow is Running Pure
Level 18
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Mike Matusow got his chips all in preflop against the covering stack of Jim Butler.
Jim Butler: A♥Q♥10♦9♦
Mike Matusow: A♠A♦9♠4♦
The board ran out 5♦K♠5♣10♠7♥ and Butler congratulated Matusow on a nice hand.
Matusow expressed amusement at the low price of $3 that he went for in the 25K Fantasy Draft, ultimately ending up on Daniel Negreanu's team. Perhaps this is exactly the motivation and confidence Matusow needs to make some deep runs this WSOP.
