Barriocanal Building

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Daniel Barriocanal opened up the action from the button raising to 5,600. From the big blind, Rommel Berges announced pot and threw in the allotted 17,500. Before the dealer could peel a single card, Berges was all in for his remaining 16,300.

The flop came A65 and Barriocanal made the call.

Daniel Barriocanal: QJ87
Rommel Berges: AKKJ

After a 4 turn card, equities flipped, and Berges needed a diamond. Unfortunately, it was the A that fell on the river, and Berges was eliminated in a tough fashion.

Jeff Madsen

Richie Allen limped the button before Yang Wang raised to 6,400 from the small blind. Jeff Madsen called from the big blind, but Allen folded.

Wang decided to check the 948 flrop and Madsen put out a bet of 16,000. Wang thought it over for quite some time before he elected to fold. Madsen turned over 94 for two pair as he pulled in the pot and pushed his stack up to around 200,000.

Chancey Chancey For Wysotchanski; Zinno & Dzivielevski Eliminated

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Yuri Dzivielevski bet 2,000 in a limped pot on a flop of 264 and was called by Wagner Wysotchanski on the button, and Anthony Zinno, who was in the small blind.

Three players saw the 9 turn. Zinno started with a check, Dzivielevski bet 8,000, Wysotchanski called, and Zinno announced pot, nearly all in for him.

Dzivielevski called for less and Wysotchanski pondered it before raising to put Zinno's remaining chips at risk. Zinno called.

Wagner Wysotchanski: Q1075
Anthony Zinno: K532 All in
Yuri Dzivielevski: K963 All in

Zinno had flopped the nut straight, Dzivielevski had two-pair and a gut shot, and Wysotchanski was open-ended with the only flush draw.

When the 3 peeled off, Wysotchanski said, "That's me." and his illustrious opponents were left to either re-enter or move onto the next tournament.

After a call from Giuseppe Pantaleo from under the gun, Kyle Arora raised to 5,000 sitting in middle position; followed by a re-raise shortly after from Lucas Zwingmann on the button. Lucas Zwingmann: AA104 All in
Ap Garza: KQJ10

Aces were safe on the 97362 runout, and Zwingmann has found a massive double-up during the early stages of the tournament.

Diamonds are Forever

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Jorge Ufano raised to 2,200 from under the gun, and after a call from Matthew Wantman from the small blind, Angelo Kozonis bumped the price of admission to 8,800 from the big blind. Ufano called while Wantman got out of the way.

A flop of K109 was dealt, and the action was checked around.

On an 8 turn card, Kozonis checked once again. Ufano elected to bet 7,400, and Kozonis called.

The A peeled off on the river, and a third check from Kozonis came in. Ufano put out a pot-sized bet of 35,400. After some deliberation, Kozonis made the call, and was shown the goods.

Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

Dan Lu had become very short-stacked with just 11,000 remaining in his stack. He managed to get them all across the betting line preflop and Joao Vieira was the player trying to bust him.

Dan Lu: AAK8 All in
Joao Vieira: AQ103

Lu had pocket aces heading to the J92 flop, where Vieira picked up a straight draw. However, the 7 turn and 4 river didn't help Vieira, and Lu doubled up.

Three is a Crowd

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

After a raise to 1,500 from James Chen sitting in middle position and a call from Omar Eljach from the cutoff; Erik Nordstrand decided to put his remaining 4,500 in the middle from the button. Action folded back around to Chen, who re-raised to 17,500. Eljach obliged, and they were off to see three.

On a flop of 1087 Chen again bet, this time for roughly 22,000, putting Eljach at risk. Eljach called and cards were tabled.

James Chen: AJ42
Omar Eljach: K876 All in

Nordstrand began heading to the rail before the 6 turn card, and the 7 river sealed the deal. Eljach ended this hand with a full house and a healthy 80,000 chip stack.

Nazarenko Hits the Rail

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Ludovic Geilich made it 2,100 from early position and Steven Forman called on the button. Ruslan Nazarenko potted it to 9,300 from the button, which got called by both players.

Geilich checked the K64 flop and Forman bet the size of the pot. Nazarenko called for his last 18,000, and Geilich folded.

Ruslan Nazarenko: AAK6 All in
Steven Forman: KQ87

Nazarenko had flopped top two pair, but Forman had a lot of outs with two cards to come. The rest of the board came 5Q to give Nazarenko the winner with a straight on the turn, sending Nazarenko to the rail.

Negreanu's 25K Draft Picks Already at Work; Notable Early Birds

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu recently posted that his 25K Fantasy Draft strategy shifted when he was able to draft himself for a mere $108. Despite getting a deal on himself compared to previous years, this still took a toll on his overall budget( $200) and he ended up adding some PLO players to his roster.

He'll be pleased to see that two of the players he drafted, Tyler Brown ($26) and Nick Palma ($1), were both seated at the very start of registration.
