Phil Ivey had only played a few hands at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) before he ran into a weird situation 10 minutes after max late registering for Event #3: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em.

The 11-time bracelet winner entered the tournament at the start of Level 13 on Day 2 with just 12.5 big blinds. He folded his first few hands before playing a pot from the big blind that ended with the floor supervisor being called over to rule on his river bet.

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Three ways to a flop of A42, Killian Desnos checked, Jeff Madsen bet 7,100, Niberson Dorleus folded, and Desnos made the call.

Heads up, they saw the A and Desnos check-folded when Madsen bet 11,500.

As he mucked, Desnos flashed queen-high to the table, showing that he had floated Madsen a street but chose not to continue.

Diamonds are Forever

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Jorge Ufano raised to 2,200 from under the gun, and after a call from Matthew Wantman from the small blind, Angelo Kozonis bumped the price of admission to 8,800 from the big blind. Ufano called while Wantman got out of the way.

A flop of K109 was dealt, and the action was checked around.

On an 8 turn card, Kozonis checked once again. Ufano elected to bet 7,400, and Kozonis called.

The A peeled off on the river, and a third check from Kozonis came in. Ufano put out a pot-sized bet of 35,400. After some deliberation, Kozonis made the call, and was shown the goods.
