Mathis, Molenaar and Cada Chop the Payouts on the Bubble
There were four all in and calls on hand #4 of hand-for-hand play on the money bubble. Three players were eliminated during the bubble.
Table 1:
On the first table, Martin Mathis was all in for a stack worth 134,000 and was against Johnnie Moreno who had him covered.
Martin Mathis: A♦K♣
Johnnie Moreno: J♥J♠
It was a typical flip situation. The dealer fanned a board 5♥10♣J♦9♠K♥ giving a set of jacks to Moreno to bust Mathis at the bubble.
Table 2:
Joe Cada was forced all in on the bubble as he sat with just a stack of 7,000 chips before the hand.
Ronnie Day called from an early position, and Iraklis Manikaros also limped from the small blind.
The 5♦A♥6♣ flop was checked down to the K♠ turn and again to the 2♦ river.
Day bet 6,000 prompting Manikaros to fold, leaving the players heads-up at showdown.
Joe Cada: 7♥7♠
Ronnie Day: A♣J♠
It was Day who took the pot as he picked up top pair on the flop, sending Cada to the rail.
Table 3:
Michel Molenaar was also eliminated from the tournament after getting in pocket queens against Hajime Watanabe's pocket kings and missing on the 7♦8♦5♥6♠3♥ board. Molenaar chopped two minimum payouts with the other two players.
Michel Molenaar: Q♣Q♦
Hajime Watanabe: K♥K♦
