2025 World Series of Poker
Adam Hendrix raised to 320,000 from the cutoff, Zdenek Zizka called from the big blind.
The dealer fanned a 10♣A♣7♠ flop. Zizka checked, Hendrix bet 220,000, and Zizka called.
Action checked through on the 4♥ turn and Q♠ river. Zizka tabled K♣Q♥, which was good for the win.
John Oneal opened-jammed from under the gun for his remaining 1,380,000 and Hao-Shan Huang re-jammed for around 1,500,000. Jinho Hong called and covered both from the small blind.
John Oneal: 3♣3♦
Hao-Shan Huang: A♥J♥
Jinho Hong: A♠K♠
The 6♠J♣10♦ flop put Huang ahead, and the J♦ turn only improved him further. He was sucked out on the 3♥ river as Oneal had rivered the boat, tripling him up.
Huang left the hand with only the 350,000 side pot.
Thomas Macdonald raised in late position to 320,000 and Dustin Iannotti made it 1,100,000 on his direct left.
When it folded back to Macdonald, he weighed his options shortly before going all in for just over 3,000,000.
With his tournament life on the line, Macdonald went deep in the tank, eventually apologizing to the rest of the table for the time he took. Finally, he slid his hand in the muck and surrendered over a million of his chips.
Benjamin Steinwachs went all in and was at risk from under the gun for 250,000. Hao-Shan Huang also went all in next to act for 350,000 and was also at risk. Karl Pineault called from the big blind, and the players tabled their hands.
Benjamin Steinwachs: K♥6♥
Hao-Shan Huang: A♣8♦
Karl Pineault: K♠9♥
The board ran out A♠9♠2♥A♥6♣, sending Benjamin Steinwachs to the payout desk, while adding a much-needed boost to Huang's stack.
A few hands prior, Olga Iermolcheva was all in for her remaining 350,000 and chopped with Joshua Reichard on the A♣5♣10♠3♦3♠ runout when only their kings played.
Olga Iermolcheva: K♣9♣
Joshua Reichard: K♥8♥
Martin Kabrhel said from the rail "Chop is better, you can go all in again".
It wasn't long before Iermolcheva found herself all in and at risk a few hands later after paying the small blind and folding for her remaining 320,000.
Iermolcheva jammed from the button after Mark Wagstaff opened from middle position. Wagstaff called and covered.
Olga Iermolcheva: 7♣6♣
Mark Wagstaff: Q♣J♣
There was very little sweat on the Q♥A♥K♦2♥3♦ runout, and she was eliminated late into the day.
Samuel Taylor raised preflop to 325,000 chips from early position, which Mark Wagstaff called from the small blind.
When the flop hit Q♣4♠3♥ Wagstaff check-raised all in over Taylor's 225,000 bet. Taylor made the call for his 2,150,000 chips.
Samuel Taylor: K♥Q♠
Mark Wagstaff: 7♥7♣
Taylor had the best of it with a pair of queens, and that held through the full runout of the 2♠6♥ on the turn and river.
Bixi Yao went all in preflop from the big blind with 1,485,000 chips. Cyril Darmouni quickly called, bringing an excited Yao out of her seat.
Bixi Yao: A♦A♠
Cyril Darmouni: Q♦Q♠
Not only did Yao have the better of Darmouni with the bigger pair, she also dominated his potential flush draws. The runout of 2♦2♠J♥3♣3♥ gave Yao the nice double-up.
Bruno Fuentes opened from middle position and Anze Smajd three-bet to 1,000,000.
Fuentes four-bet to 2,200,000 and Smajd five-bet to 3,600,000.
Fuentes took some time before folding.
