Big Stack Versus Bigger Stack

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Two of the ranking chip leaders, Yang Zhang and Bruno Fuentes, went head-to-head, or more like elbow-to-elbow in a battle of the blinds.

The action started on a flop of K4K. Fuentes bet 80,000. Zhang, sitting to his immediate left, raised the pot to 240,000. Fuentes upped it to 430,000, which Zhang quickly called.

The turn was the 5. Fuentes paused for a minute, then checked. Zhang grabbed 10 blue chips to bet one million.

Fuentes folded.

Hung Vo, seated on the other side of the table from the big stacks, chimed in. "Show the hand, please," he said. "That's a lot of drama. We need to see it."

Guerin Battles with Crane

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Didier Guerin
Didier Guerin

Didier Guerin opened from middle position to 60,000 and Sebastian Crane three-bet to 155,000 from the hijack. Action folded back around to Guerin who four-bet to 365,000 and Crane moved all in for around 3,200,000. Guerin was the shorter of the two stacks with around, 1,000,000 but made a quick call.

Didier Guerin: AAAll in
Sebastian Crane: 99

It was Guerin who was sitting comfortably preflop and things stayed that way with little sweat on the J3663 runout.

Guerin secured the double, and Crane was knocked down in the counts.

Olga Iermolcheva
Olga Iermolcheva

Olga Iermolcheva opened from early position to 60,000 and got a call from Nathan Tang in the small blind and Matthew Paston in the big blind.

The AJ2 flop was checked by all to the 7 turn. Tang checked and Paston bet 85,000. Iermolcheva called and so did Tang.

The 8 river was checked by the blinds and Iermolcheva bet 200,000. Tang folded and Paston called for his remaining 100,000 stack.

Matthew Paston: A10All in
Olga Iermolcheva: 77

Iermolcheva quickly flipped over her pocket pair, hitting a set of sevens on the turn. Paston's pair of aces wasn't enough to save him and he was eliminated early in the day.

Toldeo was fine on the flop 638, though Taylor had a big flush draw. The flush never came, but the turn 7 and river 10, were unkind to Toledo, giving Taylor a straight and the huge win.
