Rodriguez Falls to Vengrin

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Matthew Vengrin
Matthew Vengrin

Matt Vengrin limped in from early position and Amnon Filippi also limped on the button. Juan Rodriguez completed from the small blind, and Sean Troha checked in the big blind.

On the 7A2 flop, Rodriguez and Troha checked, before Vengrin bet 50,000. Filippi called and then Rodriguez made it 425,000, leaving himself just a few chips behind. Vengrin then planted a huge stack of blue chips, worth 100,000 each, into the pot.

"Wow! So sick!" shouted Filippi, who didn't like the spot he was on and eventually announced a fold. A few seconds later, Rodriguez called off his remaining 60,000 he had behind.

Juan Rodriguez: Q543 All in
Matt Vengrin: KKJJ

Rodriguez's flush draw was dead, but he did have a straight draw that he could hit to survive. The J on the turn improved Vengrin to a set, and the 6 on the river bricked out, meaning Rodriguez hit the rail.

Kempton Flops Trips to Stack Giordano

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Isaac Kempton limped in from the button and Robert Giordano completed in the small blind. Michael Reed checked from the big blind.

On the 44K flop, it checked to Kempton, who fired 25,000. Giordano called, and Reed folded.

When the 10 hit the turn, Giordano bet 100,000, leaving around 40,000 behind. Kempton took a peek at his opponent's stack, then raised, and Giordano called.

Giordano's turned two pair was no good against the trips of Kempton, and the A river didn't change anything, meaning the Frenchman was eliminated.

One King Too Many

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Martin Schamaun flatted the big blind from early position, before Philip Shing potted on the button to 110,000. Small blind snap shoved for 125,000. Schamaun called, and Shing's hands were tied as he did the same.

On a 9410 flop, Schamaun checked over to Shing, who potted it for the second time. Schamaun folded, and the cards were on their backs.

Philip Shing: AA87

Coq was drawing only to the case King, but couldn't find it on the 73 runout, sending him to the rail

Nut Flush For Punsri as Andia Exits

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jorge Paredes Andia
Jorge Paredes Andia

Jorge Paredes Andia was already all-in for his last few chips with Punnat Punsri and Amnon Filippi both still in the pot. Both active players checked the 37K flop to the 3 turn, where Filippi check-called a bet of 50,000 from Punsri.

An 8 hit the river and again Filippi check-called after Punsri fired 100,000.

"Nut flush," said Punsri as he flipped A99Xx.

Filippi couldn't believe it as he rolled over AKQ2 for the second-nut flush and forfeited the side pot over to Punsri. Andia needed a full house or better to stay alive, but his hand was no good and quickly hit the muck.

Perez Runs into Beck's Aces

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Erik Perez raised to 105,000 on the button and Matthew Beck three-bet to around 400,000 from the small blind. After the big blind folded, Perez called for his last 200,000.

Erik Perez: AK102 All in
Matthew Beck: AA109

Perez didn't find much help on the Q72 flop, but the K turn improved him to a pair and a lot of outs to win the pot. The 7 wasn't one of them and all of Perez's chips were sent over to Beck.

At another table, Keith Crowder was seen exiting his seat and is no longer in the tournament.

Olivier Brodeur made it 140,000 from middle position with just a few chips behind. Michael Monroig three-bet to around 500,000 from the cutoff. When it got back to Brodeur, he called.

Olivier Brodeur: AQ99 All in
