Alexander Nearly Folds the Best Hand

Schuyler Thornton raised from the button and George Alexander defended from the big blind. Both players drew two and checked. Alexander then drew one while Thornton drew two.

After the second draw Alexander bet and Thornton called, drawing two more while Alexander stood pat again. Alexander then bet and Thornton raised, sending Alexander deep into the tank.

After a few minutes, Benny Glaser called the clock on Alexander, who finally called with one second remaining. Thornton announced he had a ten but Alexander showed a nine-badugi with 9643 to win the hand.

Chris Klodnicki raised from under the gun and George Alexander raised in the cutoff. Action folded back to Klodnicki, who raised again and Alexander capped it to see Klodnicki call.

Klodnicki stood pat on the first draw and Alexander drew one. Klodnicki bet and Alexander raised him all in, earning a quick call from Klodnicki.

On the following two draws, Klodnicki patted while Alexander drew one.

"It's a four across," said Alexander as he sweat the final card. He then flipped it over a 4x to make number one and Klodnicki shook his head.

"Two short stacks and that's what I get?" muttered Klodnicki as the two-time WSOP bracelet winner took his leave from the tournament.

On the final draw, Glaser and Baker drew one while Balan stood pat. Glaser bet and Baker called, while Balan mucked his hand.

"Wheel," said Glaser as he turned over 5x4x3x2xAx. Baker quickly flashed 6x5x3x2xAx for an inferior number three and Glaser neared three million in the counts.

Klecan check-called another bet from Glaser after the second draw and drew one more. Glaser stood pat again. Klecan then checked-called a final bet from Glaser.

Glaser turned over 8x5x4x3x2x for eight-perfect and Klecan's hand hit the muck.
