Male Poker Player Sparks Controversy After WSOP Ladies Champs Satellite Win

Male poker player Albert "albiexchewy" Ng has sparked online controversy after winning a $1,000 seat to the WSOP Ladies Championship via an open online satellite held on June 19, 2025.

The satellite, which drew 51 entrants on WSOP.com, awarded a single $1,000 seat to the Ladies Championship, set to run June 26–30 at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Ng claimed the top prize despite not being eligible to play the event without paying a significant premium.

Rhodes Makdes A Good Call... Or Doesn't

2-7 Triple Draw

David Prociak raised on the button and in the small blind Joshua Rhodes three-bet which saw action Sean Akhavi call in the big blind and Prociak call behind him.

Rhodes drew two, Akhavi drew one, and Prociak drew three. Rhodes checked over to Akhavi who bet and only Rhodes called.

On the second draw, Rhodes drew two again and Akhavi stood pat which saw Rhodes check-call a bet from Akhavi again.

The final draw saw Rhodes draw one and Akhavi stood pat which saw Rhodes check-call a bet from Akhavi after some time in the tank.

"Good call," Akhavi said.

"I have fours," said Rhodes as he tabled 7x4x4x3x2x.

"Oh, I have a Jack," responded Akhavi as he tabled Jx8x7x6x2 for a jack.

Akhavi raked in the pot and Rhodes was left with just 9,000. He was eliminated from the tournament shortly after.

Jon Shoreman raised on the button and was called by Sean Akhavi in the small blind and Mark Klecan in the big blind.

Everyone drew two on the first draw and Akhavi checked to Klecan, who bet. Both Shoreman and Akhavi called.

Akhavi and Klecan drew one on the second draw, while Shoreman drew one. It was again checked to Klecan, who bet. This time Shoreman folded and Akhavi called.

On the final draw, Akhavi drew one and and Klecan stood pat.

Shoreman check-folded facing a bet from Klecan, who showed 5x4x3x2xAx for a wheel before collecting the pot.

Action was picked up with a significant pot brewing between Benny Glaser in the small blind and Jerome Zerbib in first position.

Glaser checked over to Zerbib who bet and Glaser called.

Both players drew one on the second draw and Glaser check-called a second bet from Zerbib.

On the final draw, Glaser drew one while Zerbib stood pat and Glaser lead out to earn a quick call.

"Six," said Glaser as he tabled 6x5x4x3x2x for a six-five and the 7-time WSOP bracelet winner was awarded the pot.

Allen Kessler, after being left very short-stacked the previous hand, put his remaining stack of 11,000 in the middle from the hijack.
Todd Ivens raised from the cutoff, Akshat Bajaj called from the small blind and Hooman Nikzad defended from the big blind. Nikzad drew one while the other three players each drew two.

After the first draw Bajaj checked and Nikzad bet. Ivens called and Bajaj called. This time all four players drew one.

Action checked to Ivens who bet after the second draw. This time only Nikzad called. All three players drew one.

With no draws remaining Nikzad check-called one more bet from Ivens. Kessler had bricked, ending up with 6553. Ivens showed a three-card three with 1032A which was enough to eliminate Kessler and win the pot.
