A three-way all-in broke out when Massimo De Mario shoved for 975,000 from the hijack. Jesse Jones chose to shove also for 1,500,000, and Abhishek Mhatre called while covering both players.
Massimo De Mario: Q♥3♥
Jesse Jones: 7♥7♦
Abhishek Mhatre: A♦10♥
The flop was favorable to Jones as he slammed a set on the Q♦K♥7♣ board; however, Mhatre did gain outs to a straight to keep Jones at risk.
The K♠ turn put an end to the matter as it gave Jones a full house. The J♦ river gave Mhatre a straight that was no longer viable.
Alexander Gittings opened the action with a raise to 600,000 from early position, picking up calls from both blinds.
The flop came 9♠2♠3♥, and after both blinds checked, Gittings fired a continuation bet of 1,100,000. Sean Cronin, in the small blind, went deep into the tank before raising to 2,500,000. Enrique Baldeon quickly folded, and Gittings didn’t waste any time before jamming. Cronin snap-called.
Sean Cronin: 3♠3♦
Alexander Gittings: K♠K♥
Cronin had flopped a set and needed it to hold against Gittings’ kings. The 4♦ turn and Q♠ river brought no surprises, and Cronin scored a massive double-up.
Mark Manges moved all in from under the gun for 1,750,000 and Arthur Morris called with the covering stack in early position.
Mark Manges: A♣J♣
Arthur Morris: A♥9♣
Morris found a nine on the 7♣9♦Q♣ flop but Manges picked up the nut flush draw. The 8♠ turn and 3♥ river were blanks for Manges and he was sent to the payout desk.
Peter Galloway was forced all-in in the big blind for his last 50,000, and action was folded around to Alexander Gittings in late position, who raised to 600,000. All other players folded.
Peter Galloway: 9♥5♦
Alexander Gittings: Q♣10♥
The flop came 10♠2♦7♥ to pretty much seal Galloway's fate, and when the 4♥ came on the turn, he was drawing dead, and the K♣ river made no difference at all, and Galloway was sent to the rail in 25th place.
It was the end of the road for Konstantinos Tzinis. He began the hand with an open to 600,000 from early position, leaving only 200,000 behind. Massimo De Mario chose to raise to 1,000,000, which cleared out the rest of the table. Tzinis called to be at risk.
Konstantinos Tzinis: 8♠5♠
Massimo De Mario: A♥4♥
The flop was not favorable to Tzinis when it came 10♦9♥A♠ to give De Mario top pair. The 6♣ turn did give Tzinis a straight draw, but the Q♠ river did not convert on any of his outs to send him out in 26th place. Tzinis earned $8,984 for his effort.
Peter Galloway open-jammed for 3,600,000 in early position. Alexander Gittings called in the cutoff for 3,550,000 after some thought, and the players tabled their cards.
Alexander Gittings: 10♥10♦
Peter Galloway: A♣J♦
No aces or jacks appeared on the 2♥6♥K♣5♦3♥ runout, and Galloway doubled up. Gittings, meanwhile, was left wtih one-sixth of a big blinds.
Action folded around to Brett Horton in the small blind who moved all in for 1,200,000. Marvin Karlins called in the big blind for 1,075,000 to put himself at risk.
Marvin Karlins: K♣5♣
Brett Horton: A♥Q♠
Horton pulled ahead further on the 3♥10♠A♠ flop, pairing his ace. The 6♦ turn and 10♦ river offered no help to Karlins and his tournament run came to an end.
