Yau Triples, Then Busts the Very Next Hand

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ethan Yau
Ethan Yau

After losing a big hand, Ethan Yau was left with just 400 chips and found himself all in from the small blind. Action folded to Tyler Gaston in the cutoff, who raised to 2,400, but with no other takers, it went straight to showdown.

Ethan Yau: 53All in
Tyler Gaston: 88

It wasn’t the prettiest hand to be all in with, but the board ran out 2J546, giving Yau a surprise straight and keeping his hopes alive with a fresh 2,400 stack.

In the very next hand, Blaz Zerjav opened to 2,500 from the cutoff, and Yau, now on the button, moved all in once again. Everyone else got out of the way and it was time for another showdown.

Ethan Yau: K7All in
Blaz Zerjav: AK

This time there was no miracle. The board ran out JK54Q, and Yau’s run came to an end as Zerjav’s superior king held strong.

The Smallest Pot Ever for Boivin

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Theo Arnoldi opened to 2,500 from the hijack. Thomas Boivin in the cutoff three-bet 7,000 while Manuel Fischer was already all in for 100 from the small blind. Arnoldi folded and cards went on their backs.

Manuel Fischer: 65 All in
Thomas Boivin: AK

"Don't do it," Boivin joked to the dealer after the K48 floped opened a straight draw for Fischer. Boivin was heard as the 39 runout didn't complete the straight and Fischer was eliminated.

Manuel Fritz opened to 2,500 from under the gun and Tyler Montoya shoved all in for 13,700 on his left. Scott Lenter reraised to 40,000 on the button and Montoya quickly stood up and put his backpack on. Fritz got out of the way and the two hands were tabled.
