Farrell Continues to Chip Up

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell is among the chip leaders in the tournament. In this hand, he raised from the hijack to 11,000. Only Dong Chen called in the big blind.

The flop came 433 and both players checked. The turn brought the 9, and Chen checked. Farrell then bet 8,000 and Chen folded.

Farrell, who had just been moved to this table, told the players "I'll give you an idea of how my day has been going", before turning over the AA.

Mercier Scoops Another One

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Natasha Mercier just entered the field at the start of the day but has continued to build her stack throughout, sitting among the chip leaders as the money bubble approaches. Facing a raise to 12,000 from Ezequiel Waigel in the hijack, Mercier just flat-called on the button. They went heads-up to a flop of K102 and both players checked to the 10 on the turn.

Waigel tossed in a bet of 27,000 and Mercier called to see the 2 on the river. Both players tapped the table again and Mercier flipped over 99 for the best hand.

A Big King for Dong to Bust Little

Dixon Gets Put To the Test

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With close to 300,000 in the middle, and the board reading 73228, Richard Dixon bet 4,000 from the big blind. Taylor Paur raised all-in for slightly under 300,000 from under the gun.

Dixon uneasily made the call. Paur showed JJ, which was no good against the KK from Dixon.

Waigel Folds Two Pair

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The action was picked up on a board of JA8Q with roughly 90,000 in the pot. Ezequiel Waigel bet 68,000 in the cutoff and Richard Dixon under the gun check raised to 171,000.

Waigel went deep into the tank for several minutes, counting his stack and checking his cards multiple times.

He eventually chose to fold AQ for two pair face up and made the right decision as Dixon revealed 109 for a straight hit on the turn.
