Kyte Puts Rast in the Blender

Level 3
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

No-Limit Hold'em

Jon Kyte opened the button to 6,000 before Brian Rast three-bet to 25,000 from the small blind. Kyte then four-bet to 63,000, and Rast called.

On the Q44 flop, Rast checked to Kyte who continued for 33,000, and Rast called.

Rast check-called again on the 3 turn, this time to the tune of 80,000.

On the 5 river, Rast checked for a third time to Kyte who put forward a bet of 132,500, leaving himself just 5,000 back. Rast went deep into the tank as this amount represented the vast majority of his remaining chips.

"If I don't fold this hand then I don't really fold anything," Rast lamented.

After over three minutes, the clock was called and Rast quickly disposed of his hand.

Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

Limit Hold'em

Chad Eveslage raised in late position and Justin Liberto three-bet in the big blind. Eveslage called.

Liberto continued on the flop of 6Q4 and Eveslage called. Liberto bet again on the 7 turn and Eveslage folded.

Eveslage is an excellent Razz player, and after the hand played out he proved he can also take being razzed by his tablemates like a champion. Scott Seiver and Eric Wasserson weren't fans of his colorful XL hoodie, which he got at Aria for $110.

"So it's like a four?" Eveslage asked a masseuse.

"It's binary," interjected Seiver. "It's a zero."

"I'm destined to wear basketball shorts all my life. Anytime I wear something else, this happens," Eveslage.

Cates was in dire straits against the top set of Glantz. Cates picked up a gutter on the 5 turn but he could not be saved on the 10 river as he was first casualty for this year's PPC.

Smith checked to Rocco who put in an overbet of 50,000. Smith would tank some time before he put in a check-raise to 250,000. Rocco had 228,000 behind after his bet as he went deep into the tank. Mike Gorodinsky opened to 4,000 in the hijack and said "no shot Daniel folds" as it folded to Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. Negreanu called.

"Look at the live reads you've picked up," said Cary Katz.

"It's not a live read, he's just been obliterating me," Gorodinsky replied.

Negreanu checked on the flop of A2K and Gorodinsky bet. Negreanu called. Both players then checked on the 8 turn. The river brought the 5 and Negreanu bet 18,000 to bring a fold from the fellow PPC champion.

"He was a good boy! He didn't try it," Negreanu cheered.

"I didn't try it because I actually had a hand," replied Gorodinsky.
