Takayama Extends Chip Lead

Level 33 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Ken Takayama
Ken Takayama

Chip leader Ken Takayama opened the action from early position with a raise to 1,200,000. He received two customers: Danny Mui called from the hijack, and Tefan Liu defended his big blind.

The three went off to a flop of JA10 and Liu checked to the aggressor, who chucked out another 1,200,000. Mui got out of the way, but Liu stuck around. The turn came the 6 and for the second street running Liu checked and Takayama bet. This time, the amount was 4,300,000. Liu made the call anyway.

The river 5 brought in the front door flush, and action checked through. Liu's KJ was no match Takayama's flopped set with JJ as he scooped in the pot to further increase his already dominant chip lead.
