Chidwick Showers Two Opponents

Eddie Ochana jammed for his last 6,000 from the small blind on a flop of J♠6♥A♠. Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind before Eemil Tuominen raised the pot to 47,500. Chidwick thought for a while, and then jammed to put Tuominen all in for his remaining 40,000. Tuominen called.

Stephen Chidwick: Q♣J♦J♣9♠

Chidwick had a set, Ochana just had top pair, while Tuominen had straight and flush possibilities. The 9♥ gave Ochana some extra outs, but the K♦ river was clean for Chidwick's set. Chidwick sent two players home and added a lot of chips to his stack.

Chance Kornuth and Nacho Barbero were heads-up on a flop of K♣10♣9♦ and Barbero tossed in a bet of 10,000. Kornuth check-raised all in for 39,500 and Barbero went into the tank.

"I'm gonna randomize," Barbero said as he looked at the time. Kornuth tried to ask a couple of questions but Barbero just mulled it over for another few seconds before throwing his cards away.

"Now we're playing the game, Nacho!" Kornuth exerted as he rolled over A♥K♥J♦4♥ for just a pair of kings. "Now we're playing the game!"

"Ya, you're playing the f***ing game," Barbero replied sarcastically as he rolled his eyes

On a completed board of A♦8♦2♦3♦J♠, Philip Sternheimer checked and Richard Lee bet 6,000 in the next seat. James Czarnecki flat-called the raise and Sternheimer then check-raised to 35,000.

Lee had just about that left at his disposal and tank-called, Czarnecki folded. Lee flashed his J♦9♦8♣7♦ for the flush with the jack and it won the pot, as Sternheimer mucked.

Tommy Le got his shorter stack into the middle on the flop of J♠9♣5♣ and was called by Nacho Barbero with the covering stack.

While being ahead with his overpair, Le had to dodge a lot of outs as Barbero had a pair, flush draw and gutshot. Nothing changed on the A♦ turn just yet but the 10♥ river gave Barbero broadway. Le has won this Championship Event two times already but won't be adding a third title in 2025, while his brother Allan Le has an above-average stack in the penultimate level of the night.

Brian Rast was already all in preflop and looked up by three opponents as the flop fell A♥K♠Q♠. It was checked to Ludovic Geilich on the button who bet 12,800. That forced the other contenders and Geilich locked up the side pot of 17,400 already.

A large pot broke out on Table 100 where Sascha Wilhelm three-bet to 18,000 out of the big blind and was called by three players. The flop came K♠10♦3♠ and Chris Vitch jammed all in for 57,000 from the big blind. Wilhelm reshoved all in for 100,600 and both Navkiran Singh and Ludovic Geilich folded.

Vitch flopped two pair to hold the lead but Wilhelm had a flush draw and two options at a set. The 8♥ on the turn bricked out but it was the Q♠ on the river that gave Wilhelm his flush and eliminated Vitch.
