Bucky's No Bueno

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Matthew Wantman
Matthew Wantman

While a big hand was playing out at his table, Jason Mercier took a stroll around the room and stumbled upon Table 87 which included Toby Lewis, Matthew "Bucky" Wantman, and Michael Duek sitting beside each other.

"Wow, look at this table," Mercier said, engaging with them. Wantman noted that Duek's humming and whistling was starting to bother him. "Do you guys have beef?"

"We're about to!" Wantman joked.

"Take it up on the pickleball court," Mercier suggested.

"I would love to!" Duek chimed in.

"Ya, you would win, Bucky's no bueno," Mercier referred to Wantman.

Mercier returned to his seat and the cards were back in the air as usual.

Seidel Scores Big Double Through Covington

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

The action started with a raise to 3,000 by Colby Covington and Erik Seidel flat-called. Mark Zajdner three-bet the pot to 14,800 on the button and Covington called. Seidel in the cutoff then reraised the pot to just shy of 60,000 for two thirds of his stack. That got rid of Zajdner while Covington called and checked the 542 flop. Seidel pushed all-in and Covington called.

Erik Seidel: AAQ4 All in
Colby Covington: KK88

The A turn improved Seidel to an unbeatable set of aces, which he had needed as the 8 river gave Covington the now inferior set of eights.

Pot-Limit Razz Champion from Estonia Finds a Way

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Blaz Zerjav
Blaz Zerjav

After arriving at the table, Blaz Zerjav and Ryan Coon somehow got all of their chips into the middle preflop and their hands were face up on the felt.

Ryan Coon: AKQ3All in
Blaz Zerjav: A764

It appeared that one player was trying to show Zerjav his potential outs, until the flop came Q97. "Oh that's all him," he pointed out after Coon flopped a pair with the lone flush draw.

The J on the turn changed nothing but it was the 4 on the river that gave Zerjav a baby two pair and Coon was bounced from the tournament.

"The pot-limit razz champion from Estonia," Scott Bohlman pointed to Zerjav's holding. Zerjav already has two WSOP bracelets under his belt this summer, neither coming in the PLO or razz variants; however, he did win a $200 pot-limit razz title in Estonia back in February for a whopping $3,300.

Arieh's Tournament Comes to an End

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Josh Arieh checked from the small blind on a flop of 3QJ and Young Sik Eum bet 5,000 from under the gun. Arieh check-raised to 21,000, which Eum called.

The 3 dropped on the turn and Arieh jammed for roughly 38,000. Eum called to put Arieh at risk.

Josh Arieh: KQJ4 All in
Young Sik Eum: AA82

Arieh's two pair on the flop had been counterfeited, and Eum had the better flush draw. Arieh couldn't find the help he needed on the 7 river, and he wished everyone good luck as he headed for the exit.

Kyte Nearly Triples Up; Buonocore Busts

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

On a flop of J106, the stacks of three players went into the middle and Bryan Buonocore was the shortest of them up against Jon Kyte and Brynjar Gigja.

Bryan Buonocore: KJ103 All in
Jon Kyte: JJ77 All in
Brynjar Gigja: AQ98

Gigja had a lot of equity to knock out two players but it was Kyte who came out on top thanks to the 8 turn and 6 river runout, as he improved to a full house. Buonocore was eliminated while Kyte doubled for more than 35,000 against Gigja.

Lamb & Lehr Play an Unusual Hand

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ben Lamb
Ben Lamb

Ben Lamb bet 16,000 on a flop of 96J and Keith Lehr called from the next seat.

Lamb bet 1,500 on the 10 with just 1,100 behind. Lehr called and turned over his hand of AQQ3 for a pair of queens.

With Lehr's hand still on show, the 7 came on the river, and Lehr put Lamb all-in out of turn, much to the amusement of Lamb and the table. Eventually, Lamb decided to bet his last 1,100, which Lehr called.

Lamb laughed and said, "That's good.", at which point Lehr grabbed Lamb's cards and began to try to wrestle them out of his hand. Lamb eventually turned over 6542 for a rivered flush to pull in the pot.

Lehr, Lamb, and their tablemates all saw the funny side of the whole encounter, especially the slow roll.
