Kornuth is Playing the Game

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Chance Kornuth and Nacho Barbero were heads-up on a flop of K109 and Barbero tossed in a bet of 10,000. Kornuth check-raised all in for 39,500 and Barbero went into the tank.

"I'm gonna randomize," Barbero said as he looked at the time. Kornuth tried to ask a couple of questions but Barbero just mulled it over for another few seconds before throwing his cards away.

"Now we're playing the game, Nacho!" Kornuth exerted as he rolled over AKJ4 for just a pair of kings. "Now we're playing the game!"

"Ya, you're playing the f***ing game," Barbero replied sarcastically as he rolled his eyes

Chidwick Showers Two Opponents

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Stephen Chidwick

Eddie Ochana jammed for his last 6,000 from the small blind on a flop of J6A. Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind before Eemil Tuominen raised the pot to 47,500. Chidwick thought for a while, and then jammed to put Tuominen all in for his remaining 40,000. Tuominen called.

Eddie Ochana: A1082 All in
Eemil Tuominen: AKQ5 All in
Stephen Chidwick: QJJ9

Chidwick had a set, Ochana just had top pair, while Tuominen had straight and flush possibilities. The 9 gave Ochana some extra outs, but the K river was clean for Chidwick's set. Chidwick sent two players home and added a lot of chips to his stack.

[Removed:549] Scoops in Three-Way All-In

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

After a three-way limped pot on a flop of A97, all three players had all of their chips in the middle and the cards were on their backs. Gary Benson was at risk for 22,000, Jason Lademan was all in for 78,000, and [Removed:548] barely had him covered with a stack of 79,000.

Gary Benson: J1087All in
Jason Lademan: AQ96All in
[Removed:548]: AA32

[Removed:549] was in the lead with a set of aces but he had a lot of cards that he needed to fade. The 2 on the turn was safe and the 7 paired the board on the river to give [Removed:549] a full house and eliminate both of his opponents.

Zajdner Gets Some Chips Back

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Following a flop of K109, Mark Zajdner checked and Pedro Marques bet 12,000. Erik Seidel called only for Zajdner to declare a check-raise for the size of the pot and instantly mentioned the corresponding 68,500. Marques folded and Seidel came to the same conclusion.

Nobody is Having a Better Time than Matusow

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

There was some loud laughter coming from the corner of the room but it was all from the same person, Mike Matusow. Rolling around in laughter, Matusow was having the time of his life while the other seven players were either miserable, annoyed, or trying to focus on some poker.

"Have you ever laughed so hard, that you just can't stop laughing?" Matusow asked. "I don't even know why I'm laughing. I think it's because I'm in this shitty place. I don't know why I keep torturing myself."

There was also a hand taking place where three players went to a flop of 1083. The action was checked to Jonathan Depa who bet 7,000 on the button. Charles Sylvestre called from the big blind and Ruslan Nazarenko came along as well.

The turn brought the 6 and it checked to Depa again who pushed all in for 38,000. Sylvestre folded and Nazarenko's cards quickly followed into the muck.

Another laughing fit broke out from Matusow at the end of the hand. "Nobody is having a better time than me, with less chips."

Richardson Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Daemon Richardson raised to 6,500 when Daniel Geeng had limped in and Christian Harder called, as did Geeng. On the J75 flop, all three players checked to see the A turn for free. It now checked to Richardson and his bet of 15,000 was called two ways.

Richardson also bet the 3 river when checked to, making it 40,000 to go. This time, no call followed and Richardson claimed the pot.

Godena Surges Late on Day 1

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ioannis Angelou Konstas was spotted chatting with Nikolaos Lampropoulos one table over and his former seat had no more chips left. He confirmed that Jarryd Godena scored the knockout, who then took on Alejandro Jauregui. In three-way action to the K52 flop, Jauregui bet 10,000 and Godena was the only caller.

They checked the 9 turn and Jauregui also checked the A on the river. Godena bet 20,000 and won the pot without showdown.
