Kupin Turns Rast Dead

Level 21
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was picked up on the flop in a sizable pot that had initially seen Aaron Kupin open the action in the hijack and Brian Rast three-bet in the cutoff which Kupin called.

The flop rolled out 873 and Kupin checked over to Rast who bet 83,000. Kupin responded by raising to 200,000 and Rast called.

On the turn 9, Kupin bet 180,000 and Rast went into the tank before declaring he was all in for 529,000. Kupin immediately slammed his chips into the middle to call.

Brian Rast: AA All in
Aaron Kupin: 65

Kupin had turned a nine-high straight, leaving Rast's aces drawing dead to win before the inconsequential 10 rolled off on the river. Kupin's stack grew immensely while Rast exited the tournament just shy of the tournament redraw.

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

James Obst raised in the small blind and Daniel Negreanu defended in the big blind. Obst drew two and Negreanu drew one.

Obst checked after the draw and Negreanu checked back as he showed his highest card with a jack. Obst then turned over 10x9x6x4x2x and it was good to win the pot.

"What the f***?!" Negreanu said. "How does that lose? I was being nice by not value betting!"

Ali Eslami: A943 All in
Bariscan Betil: AQ53

The J river completed the board and the two players chopped the pot as Eslami stayed alive.

Rast Sets Up Babins for the KO

Level 20

No-Limit Hold'em

Jacob Babins raised to 30,000 from the small blind before Brian Rast three-bet to 105,000 from the big blind, and Babins called.

Jacob Babins: QJ All in
Brian Rast: 1010

Miki Falls to Betil

Level 20

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Bariscan Betil from the small blind and Yosuke Miki from under the gun were tangled in a hand with the flop reading AJ4. A series of raises resulted in Miki being all-in for just under 400,000, which includes the preflop bets.

Yosuke Miki: AKQ10 All in
Bariscan Betil: AQJ2

Miki had top pair, the nut flush draw, and a wrap against the top two and lesser flush draw of Betil. The board ran out 58 as Miki could not connect and the rest of his stack was shipped over to Betil.

At another table, Barry Greenstein was eliminated from the tournament.

Jansen Triples; Le Gone

Level 20
Bradley Jansen
Bradley Jansen

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Bradley Jansen raised to 42,000 from the hijack and Allan Le raised all in for 99,000 from the cutoff. In the big blind Daniel Negreanu called and Jansen called for 96,000 total to put himself at risk.

On the first draw, Negreanu drew two while Jansen drew one and Le drew one behind him.

The second draw saw Negreanu draw two, Jansen Draw one, and Le stood pat.

Negreanu drew one on the final draw and Jansen contemplated for a bit before tossing one card out of his hand and Le stood pat.

Bradley Jansen: 8x5x3x2x Xx All in
Allan Le: 9x8x5x4x2x All in
Daniel Negreanu: 7x5x3x2x Xx

The final draw saw Negreanu peel a 10x first, ensuring that Le would survive with his nine-eight and Jansen peeled a 7x to give him eight-seven. Jansen scooped the main while Le was left with just 6,000 after the hand.

Le put in that 6,000 in the following hand in the hijac while Hye Park raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Barry Greenstein called in the big blind.

Everyone drew two and Greenstein check-folded to a 20,000 bet from Park.

On the second draw, Le drew two and Park drew one.

The final draw saw both players draw one.

Allan Le: 6x5x4x3x Xx All in
Hye Park: 9x6x3x2x

Park peeled a 7x to give him nine-seven and Le only could muster an Ax to leave him with an ace-six. The WSOP bracelet winner wished his table mates luck as he exited the tournament.

FML Schwartz

Level 20
Jake Schwartz
Jake Schwartz

No-Limit Five Card Draw

Jake Schwartz had just finished huffing Denis Strebkov's green bottle of Thai herbal inhalant — "I love this shit!" — before he raised to 110,000 in the hijack with just 1,000 behind and Hiroyuki Noda called on the button. Schwartz drew one and Noda drew two.

Schwartz checked after the draw and Noda bet 1,000. Schwartz went deep into the tank as two players were at risk at the next table with a pay jump looming. After both players survived, Schwartz called and announced two pair.

Schwartz proceeded to turn over AxAxQx7x5x, realizing that he had accidentally pitched his other five. His aces and fives wouldn't have been good anyway, though, as Noda made a better two pair with AxAxQxQxJx.

"That would be so tilting," Schwartz said. "I mean, it's still tilting."

Park Leads With Number Three

Level 20

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

James Obst opened to 27,000 from under the gun and was called by Daniel Negreanu in the hijack and Hye Park in the big blind.

Park took two, Obst took one, and Negreanu took two. It checked to Obst who bet 70,000, Negreanu folded, and Park called.

Both took one on the second draw and Park check-called a bet of 155,000 from Obst.

Park still needed a card but Obst patted behind. Park took some time before he decided to lead for 370,000 and Obst quickly called. Park tabled 7x6x5x3x2x for number three to drag a huge one off Obst.
