Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
WSOP
WSOP

In poker, like in life, they say records are meant to be broken.

But sometimes, someone sets a milestone that just feels impossible to top. Whether it’s because of insane skill, perfect timing, a bit of luck, or a mix of all three, the World Series of Poker has seen some feats over the years that seem like they’ll never be matched.

However, while all records may eventually fall, these achievements are currently some of the most jaw-dropping in WSOP history. Will any of them ever be broken? Only time will tell. For now, though, here are the most incredible WSOP records that will (probably) never be broken.

Yuan Out Early After Break

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Kristopher Duren pushed all in for 300,000 from the small blind, and got a call from Xizhe Yuan seated next to him in the big blind.

Kristopher Duren: J8All in
Xizhe Yuan: KQ

Duren did get a pair on the flop, but the full rundown of 8AKQ7 ended with Yuan holding two pair (kings and queens) and apologizing for being the knockout artist to his tablemate.

Zhan Guo

Bryan Reyes moved all in for 295,000 from the big blind, after facing a raise from Zhan Xi Guo to 85,000 in the hijack. Guo made the call.

Bryan Reyes: KJ All in
Zhan Xi Guo: A10

The board ran out with AQ226, and even though Reyes called for a ten, he did not receive it, and Guo's two pair was good for the win.

Guo Beats Morales... Brutally

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Francesco Morales was all in and at risk for his tournament life. All he had to do to hang on and earn a double was hold against a hand he dominated.

Francesco Morales: A10 All in
Zhan Xi Guo: A9

The flop was a scary one as K27 gave Guo so many more outs. He wasted no time in making the nuts, as his opponent was drawing dead on the 5 turn. Any river, including the 6 that was put out, was inconsequential.

Nines Have it

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

After action was checked to him, Suhail Khan fired a 65,000 on the flop of 724 with a pot of around 450,000. Jacob Marlman, the only other player in the hand, called.

The turn 7 fell, and both players checked. On the river 3, Marlman led out with 65,000 and Khan called.

Marlman tabled 66 for a two pair with the board. Marlman turned over 99 for the better two pair.

Ahmadi Ousts Crivello

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Craig Crivello was the first to move all in, putting his 105,000 chips at risk under the gun. Nick Ahmadi went over the top with a raise to 250,000.

Matan Mesika, on the button, gave it some deliberate thought before electing to sit out the hand.

Craig Crivello: 108All in
Nick Ahmadi: AJ

As the runout hit 635J8, even the low-card flop missed Crivello, and when Ahmadi connected his jack on the turn, the hand was over.

Vibert Disappointed With River Check

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action was picked up on the turn with a board of QK43, and Callum Vibert, who was in the big blind, checked to Evan Zhang on the button. Zhang put out 180,000, and Vibert made the call into a pot of about 200,000.

On the river, J Vibert checked again, and Zhang checked behind. Vibert expressed a disappointing sound and turned over Q6 for the flush. Zhang mucked.

Kamei's Set Sends Vahabi Home

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Assaf Zeharia opened the betting with a raise to 85,000 from early position. Action folded round to Mehrdad Vahabi on the button who shoved for 235,000. Gustavo Kamei then reshoved for 1,100,000 total. After a brief think, Zeharia ended up letting go of his cards.

Mehrdad Vahabi: A8 All in
Gustavo Kamei: JJ

Vahabi was already up and out of his chair on the 7QJ flop, and stayed out of it as the 95 runout confirmed his elimination.
