Bottom Pair is Good Enough

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Shane Luhr limped in the small blind, and Kevin Kuo in the big checked his option.

The dealer unfurled J46. Luhr check-called Kuo's bet of 20,000. Both checked the turn 2 and the river 9

Luhr tabled 52 for bottom pair, which was enough to win the pot.

Miller Left With Dust

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Steven Miller opened the betting from middle position with a shove, for 282,000. Martijn Kiers called all in from the button, and both blinds took some time with their decisions. Ultimately, they both folded, sending the two to a runout.

Martijn Kiers: 1010 All in
Steven Miller: AK

Kiers' three of a kind on 645Q10 gave him the win, and the double, leaving Miller with less than two big blinds to spin up.

Johnson Gets the Triple Up

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Dave Stann opened to 40,000 from late position and Tim Kovacic three-bet to 100,000 from the hijack. Bert Johnson moved all in for his remaining 119,000 on the button and both players called behind.

Action was checked from the 1032 flop, to the 9 turn and down to showdown after the 6 river was placed.

Bert Johnson: A10All in
Tim Kovacic: KJ
Dave Stann: AK

Johnson took the pot having flopped a pair of tens which was good enough to secure him the triple.

Stann remarked, "How do you do that with Ace-Ten?" with another player asking, "Did the hearts scare you?"

Aces All Around

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Nicholas Amicucci opened to 32,000 in late position and received an all-in shove from Konstantin Puchkov in the small blind for 285,000. Amicucci snap-called and tabled his hand immediately.

Konstantin Puchkov: AA
Nicholas Amicucci: AA

Puchkov was a bit surprised when Amicucci showed his hand, so much that he tabled his own pocket aces more slowly than the other. They both watched the dealer display the board K1066Q knowing what the result would be.

Somewhat anti-climactically, they just pulled their chips back as the dealer chopped the big blind and the ante between the two of them.

Renke Gets Paid on Three Streets

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Garrett Boltjes limped in from the hijack, before Kajetan Renke on his direct left opted to raise to 46,000. When action folded round to Boltjes, he just called again.

In fact, Boltjes did not take any aggressive action at all throughout the hand. Following two flat calls preflop, he then check-called the A69 flop for 33,000, before doing the same on the A turn, except this time the amount was 52,000. Boltjes then checked in the dark, as the 7 river peeled off. Renke fired a third barrel, for 64,000, and Boltjes put in the call.

He tabled KK for two pair, but it was no good against the A3 of Renke, who scooped a huge pot that took him over the seven-figure mark.

Full House for Dominguez

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

David Welch raised from late position to 32,000, Jorge Dominguez made the call from the hijack, and Russell Boyd also wanted to see the flop from the big blind. The board came out with J9K, and the two out-of-position players checked, and Dominguez bet out 32,000. Boyd folded, and Welch made the call.

On the turn 3, Welch checked again and Dominguez bet out 74,000.

Welch contemplated, but then, as he mentioned earlier, "We didn't come all this way to fold," and called.

On the river J, Welch quickly tossed out 200,000, and Dominguez quickly called to show Welch the bad news.

Welch tabled AJ for trip jacks, Dominguez showed 99 for the full house.
