Udagawa Stays Alive

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Marc Goldman opened to 80,000 under the gun and got called by Sterling Harris to his immediate left. Action folded around to the big blind Naoto Udagawa, who shoved all-in for around 300,000.

Goldman went into the tank calculating how many big blinds he would have left if he called. He ultimately folded his hand. Harris, on the other hand, made the call.

Naoto Udagawa: A7 All in
Sterling Harris: KK

All Udagawa needed was an ace to stay alive, but something better came with the flop which dropped 3104. Harris needed to evade a flush from happening to maintain his lead. But the 5 dropped, completing Udagawa's flush and pushing him ahead. The board was completed with a Q.

Udagawa scooped the pot for a double to continue his tournament run.
