Event #80: $800 Summer Celebration
Day 1b Started
Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker and your destination for nonstop updates from every bracelet event on the schedule.
The summer of poker is in full swing here at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas, as Day 1b of Event #80: $800 Summer Celebration No-Limit Hold'em gets underway today at 10 a.m. local time. This two-flight no-limit hold’em event crowns its champion on Independence Day, July 4.
Day 1b starts at 10 a.m. local time. Players begin with 40,000 chips and 30-minute levels. One reentry is allowed per flight, and late registration remains open through Level 12 (around 5:00 p.m.).
The plan is to play 22 levels, with 20-minute breaks every four levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 16 (around 7:00 p.m.). Payouts begin on Day 1, so expect fast and furious action.
Day 2 resumes on July 4 at 11 a.m. with all remaining players returning to play down to a winner. Breaks come every four levels, with a 60-minute pause before the final table.
On July 2, Day 1a saw its 3,054-strong field reduced to only 168 over the course of 22 levels. Four players from the Netherlands finished in the top ten, including current chip leader Roelof Pepping (2,775,000). An even larger crowd is expected for Day 1b, so expect Pepping's chip lead to be under threat.
