King Ascends Late, Condemns Kanakopoulos to Rail

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Andrew King raised to 1,200, which Tarun Goyal called in the cutoff. Button Orestis Kanakopoulos then three-bet to 4,800, which King four-bet to 18,000.

Goyal had seen enough and quickly mucked his cards, but Kanakopoulos wanted to see a flop and called.

King slowed down on the 935 flop, checking it over to Kanakopoulos. Kanakopoulos bet 11,000, and King called.

The 10 turn saw Kanakopoulos size up to a hefty 34,000. Upon hearing the amount, King took off his sunglasses and spent a few minutes in contemplation. Eventually, he check-called to the 3 river, which he also checked.

Kanakopoulos piled in a bet of 74,500, which covered most of both players' stacks. King leaned back in his chair, repeating "I do not believe you" a few times before he spent some more time in the tank.

Eventually, King verbally announced a call. Kanakopoulos tabled 66 for a measly pair of sixes, which King royally beat with his AA. King shipped the massive pot and celebrated loudly, and Kanakopoulos could not help but smile as he paid his opponent off.

Kanakopoulos was left with about four big blinds, which he lost before the conclusion of Day 1d.
