Lyall Forces the Fold
Level 13
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
With the flop showing Q♣10♠5♥ and around 35,000 already in the pot, Dean Lyall checked from under the gun to Thomas Eychenne in middle position. Eychenne fired out 20,000, and Lyall made the call.
The Q♦ turn was checked through by both players, slowing the pace.
But when the A♠ landed on the river, Lyall shifted gears and moved all in for his last 48,000. The sudden shove clearly put Eychenne in a tough spot, and he didn’t look pleased with how the board had run out. After some thought, he eventually folded.
As the pot was pushed Lyall’s way, he cheekily asked, “Do you call a flop all-in?” Eychenne stayed quiet, and Lyall followed up with a few more speculative guesses about his hand, but Eychenne didn’t give anything away.
