Power Hero-Calls At the Wrong Time

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Luka Bojovic

Off a short stack, Adrien Zychowski folded the 66 and Chad Power raised to 800,000 with the AK, Luka Bojovic called with the A9 in the big blind. On the 862 flop, both players checked to see the 9 on the turn and Bojovic now over-bet for 3,200,000 to pick up a call from Power.

The river paired the board with the 9 and Bojovic bet 8,200,000 into a pot of 8,600,000 with his trips nines to send Power into the tank. It was for nearly all of his chips and Power indeed hero-called with his ace-king high bluff catcher to drop all the way to one and a half big blinds on the pay jump bubble.
