Sturm Trips Siemsen Out

Heads-up on board of 4♦J♥3♠4♠ with over 10,000 already in the middle, Leon Sturm bet 8,500 from the small blind and Goswin Siemsen called from the cutoff.

The Q♠ completed the board and Sturm put a stack of chips into the middle, which was enough to put Siemsen all in for approximately 30,000 total.

"Not the best river, but..." Siemsen said as he put in a call.

Sturm turned over A♣4♣ for trip fours and Siemsen showed he held A♦A♥ before exiting the tournament area.

In doing so, the polarizing Czech poker pro has overtaken Benny Glaser's lead in the 2025 WSOP Player of the Year race.

Franklin White called from under the gun and in the small blind, Chad Power raised to 1,500 which saw only White call.

The flop rolled out 8♠9♦K♥ and White called a bet of 1,500 from Power.

On the turn A♦, Power checked over to White who bet 3,000 and Power called.

Power checked the river 10♥ and White moved all in for 46,500 and Power elected to call.

White had jammed all in with his pair of tens only to be called by Power's pair of queens, vaulting Power over the six figure mark as the players neared break.

In a multiway pot, Peter Patricio in middle position bet 2,200 and Yinchuan Liu in the big blind was the only one to call.

Liu fired a second barrel of 3,000 on the 8♣ turn and was called once again, but Patricio led out for 6,400 on the 8♦ river.

Patricio went deep into the tank and eventually made the call, but he ran into 9♣7♣ for a flush.
