In a battle of the blinds to the A♣8♣6♥4♦Q♥ river with around 35,500 in the middle, Stevie Trizis checked and then called a bet by Igor D'Ursel for 25,000. Trizis exposed his A♦ already and then mucked his 7♣ in disgust when D'Ursel revealed the A♥9♠ for the slightly better kicker.
With the board showing A♠Q♣4♠9♠4♥, Paul Sokoloff checked and then called a bet of 7,000 by Joe Kuether. The latter turned over A♥6♠ and that won the pot.
Christopher Kojack came in with a min-raise from early position and was three-bet to 4,100 by Christian Cheng from the next seat. Kojack decided to call when it folded back to him.
Kojack checked the 3♠8♣K♥ flop, allowing Cheng to put out a bet of 2,000. Kojack didn't take long to check-raise to 6,000, which was enough to force Cheng to fold.
Niklas Warlich had opened from middle position before Chris Moorman three-bet from the cutoff, and Warlich called.
On the K♦10♦9♠ flop, Warlich checked to Moorman who continued for 3,500 and Warlich put in the call.
The flush-completing 4♦ turn checked through to the 5♥ river which saw Warlich led with a bet of 13,500 and Moorman called instantly.
Niklas Warlich: A♥Q♥
Chris Moorman: K♥Q♦
Warlich was bluffing with his missed gutter and was left with just ace-high, as Moorman made the right call on the end to collect a substantial pot early.
Ioannis Panagopoulos raised to 2,000 in early position. Patrick Wade made the call form middle position. Thomas Meehan defended his big blind with a call.
The flop hit Q♦8♣K♣, and Panagopoulos continued with a bet of 2,500. Wade and Meehan called.
The turn brought the 4♥, and this time Meehan fired first, betting 10,000. Panagopoulos and Wade folded.
Meehan, who has limited mobility because of ALS, had the help of Jason Steinart, a friend from his hometown Chelsea, Mich.
Steinart moves the cards dealt to Meehan to an angled wooden block, so he can peak at each hand. Meehan plays the hands by himself and folds on his own by sliding the cards down the ramp.
Steinart rakes in the chips when Meehan wins a pot.
While many players are sitting with big hoodies and parkas in an attempt to protect themselves from the cold air being blown down from the air conditioners, Michail Grigorev was just getting warmed up on the first hand of the day.
Gabriel Megda raised it up from middle position and Grigorev defended from the big blind. The flop came 5♦3♠2♠ and both players checked to the 4♥ on the turn.
Grigorev checked again and Megda flicked in a bet of 1,000. Grigorev check-raised to 4,000 and Megda stuck around for the 2♣ on the river. Grigorev sized up a bet of 12,000 and Megda gave it some thought but decided to lay his hand down.
Ramon Pessoa raised to 1,600 in early position. Richard Ma called in the cutoff before Vinny Lingham three-bet to 5,000 in the big blind. Both Pessao and Ma called to the 7♣6♦6♠ flop, which Lingham checked.
Pessoa bet 6,500, Ma folded, and Lingham called. The 3♥ turn was checked by both Lingham and Pessoa, and Lingham checked the J♠ river as well.
Pessoa fired a small bet of 6,000, which Lingham quickly called. Pessoa showed 9♠9♦ for nines and sixes, but Lingham had the highest pocket pair with A♦A♣, awarding him the pot.
Andre Cabrini opened to 1,600 from middle position and Linglin Zeng three-bet to 5,000 in late position. Action folded back around to Cabrini who four-bet to 12,500 and Zeng called.
The flop rolled out 4♦10♦6♣ and Cabrini continued for 7,000 and Zeng called.
Cabrini checked the turn 9♠ over to Zeng who bet 9,000 and Cabrini wasted little time in folding his hand.
David Fuss raised to 1,600 from middle position before Joshua Mancuso jammed for 8,600 from the hijack. Stefan Dimitrov called from the cutoff, and Fuss folded.
Joshua Mancuso: K♠J♠
Stefan Dimitrov: A♦J♦
Mancuso was dominated by Dimitrov heading to the J♣9♦7♥ flop, where both players hit top pair. The 6♥ turn and 9♥ river didn't provide the help Mancuso needed, and he was out of the Main Event.
