Zerjav Folds a Big Hand to Matti's Five-Bet

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Armand Matti opened to 3,000 and got a three-bet from Benedetto Bianco to 9,000 from the small blind. Blaz Zerjav in the big blind defended with a four-bet to 19,000, sending Matti to the tank.

Matti was starting directly at Zerjav then five-bet to 45,000. Bianco folded without hesitation. Zerjav, visibly uncertain, mulled over the situation, openly looked at his hand and made a big fold.

Matti, wanting to know what the hand was, asked what it was but didn't get a reply apart from Zerjav saying he folded a big hand. Matti claimed he had ace-king.

Konishi Among Big Stacks After Eliminating Dandrea

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Raymond Dandrea had gone all in at a prior point in the hand, creating a main pot of 65,000, and a side pot was brewing between Reo Konishi in the hijack and Timur Margolin on the button.

The board read 3745 when Konishi bet 30,000. Margolin called to the K river, where Konishi checked. After a while, Margolin decided to check back.

Konishi's QQ bested the JJ of Margolin and the 99 of Dandrea, shipping the sizable pot and sending Dandrea to the rail.

Zipfel Losing Piles as Cader Doubles

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Jason Zipfel
Jason Zipfel

Mounir Tajiou raised to 3,000 in middle position. Adam Cader sat in the next seat and made it 10,000 to go, after which Jason Zipfel four-bet to 20,000. Tajiou let his hand go, but Cader moved all in for 48,000.

Zipfel made a quick call, and the cards were tabled.

Adam Cader: AK All in
Jason Zipfel: AQ

The 5758 board had the table rooting for a chop, but the river fell the 5, securing the win for Cader's Big Slick and doubling him up.

Zipfel, meanwhile, had lost about two-thirds of his former big stack since the start of Level 9, most of which seemed to have ended up in Daniel Martin's possession.
