First Break

Level 3

Players have reached the first 15-minute break of the day.

Roberts Takes Near Family Pot

Level 3

2-7 Triple Draw

Brian Tate raised under the gun and was called by Christian Roberts in the hijack, David "ODB" Baker on the button, Allen Kessler in the small blind, and Chris Hunichen in the big blind.

Hunichen needed three and everyone else took two. The action checked to Tate who bet, Roberts called, Baker raised, Kessler called, Hunichen folded, and the others called.

All four players took one card on the second draw. It checked to Roberts who bet and everyone called.

Roberts was now pat and everyone else took one card. Roberts bet and only Tate called. Roberts tabled 7x6x4x3x2x for number two to drag a massive pot.

Defending champion Calvin Anderson was seen leaving the room after an early exit, as he is the unfortunate first departure from the tournament.

Shimizu Shows Kings

Level 3

Pot-Limit Omaha

Akihide Shimizu raised to 1,000 from under the gun, with Ryan Hoenig calling in the cutoff and Ali Eslami sliding in a call on the button. Brian Yoon defended his big blind, and the 1047 was fanned out.

Yoon checked to Shimizu, who continued for 2,000. Hoenig made the call, while Eslami and Yoon got out of the way.

Both players checked the 7 turn, with another pair of checks following the 3 river. Shimizu turned over AKKJ for two pair, kings and sevens, taking the down the pot as Hoenig mucked.

Allen Kessler

Stud Hi-Lo

Allen Kessler: AJJ / A4J4
Dario Alioto: A53 / 285A

Allen Kessler completed after Dario Alioto's bring-in, with Alioto the only caller to fourth street. Kessler bet and was called to fifth, firing again and Alioto came along.

Sixth street saw Kessler check his open pair of fours, making the call after Alioto bet. Kessler checked again on seventh, and Alioto tossed out a bet.

"I raise just in case," said Kessler as Alioto called. Kessler tabled a full house to claim the high pot, while Alioto turned over his eight-five low to take the low.

Breck Four-Bets a Premium; Arieh Can't Believe It

Level 3
Brian Breck
Brian Breck

Limit Hold'em

Following a raise, defending champion Calvin Anderson three-bet from the hijack after losing a huge pot. Brian Beck then made it four bets from the button, Josh Arieh capped it at five bets from the small blind, and both Anderson and Breck called.

Action resumed on the turn with the board reading K879 as Anderson bet, Breck raised, Arieh cold-called from the small blind, and Anderson called.

On the 6 river, the action checked to Breck who bet and only Arieh called.

"i was already there and the river screwed me," Breck added as he tabled 106 for the cold-four bet which turned a straight.

"Hold on, I just have to take a picture of this for my wife," Arieh commented as he took out his phone, showing AA in the foreground with the board and Breck's hand in the background.

Anderson was off to a rough start but found a triple the next hand.
