Sole Doubles Through Tomescu

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

George Tomescu opened the action with a raise to 32,000 from the cutoff, which led to a call from Ignacio Sole from the big blind with not much left behind.

Sole checked the flop of 4K2 before Tomescu fired 16,000. Sole raised to 41,000 and was snap called by Tomescu.

Ignacio Sole: K4All in
George Tomescu: AK

Sole was in trouble preflop, but he managed to not only outflop Tomescu, but do so in a way where Tomescu had a strong piece of the board.

The 2 turn and the 8 river were safe for Sole as he found a double against Tomescu.

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz raised to 33,000 from late position only to face a three-bet from Richard Pyne on the button to 80,000. Katz went into the tank for a short while and then called.

The flop came 10K4, and Katz check-called Pyne's 50,000 continuation bet, and the dealer dropped the 7 as the turn card. Katz checked again, and now Pyne bet out for 125,000. Katz called.

Both players checked the 5 river, "King-six" said Pyne, and Katz turned over AK for top-top and was pushed the monster pot.

Tough Couple Hands Send Sole Out

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ignacio Sole had a rough go of it over the course of two hands that led to his exit.

The first hand began when Ignacio Sole got it all in preflop against Casey Hatmaker with Hatmaker at risk.

Casey Hatmaker: A10All in
Ignacio Sole: AK

Sole had Hatmaker dominated as they headed to the runout, but the flop did not preserve his lead as it fanned out 1042 to reverse their position. The 9 turn and the 10 river only served to help Hatmaker as Sole was left with 83,000.

The very next hand Sole shipped it for his remaining chips from early position and was called from middle position by Frederik Reinert to put Sole at risk.

Ignacio Sole: A4All in
Casey Hatmaker: A10

In a cruel twist of fate, Sole was up against the same hand, but this time he held the worst of it with the inferior ace.

The flop came out 659, which was of no help to Sole.

The 9 turn presented some chop outs, but the river did not convert on any of Sole's outs as it came the J.

Zaki Gets Whacky with Daniels

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Justin Zaki raised to 38,000 from the cutoff, and Shawn Daniels then three-bet all in from the big blind, and he had Zaki covered. Zaki went into the tank for a while and then made the call for his tournament life.

Justin Zaki: A9All in
Shawn Daniels: 5x5x

A near-perfect flop of A9Q came for Zaki, and when the A peeled off on the turn Daniels was drawing dead. The irrelevant 9 sealed the deal on the river, and Zaki was shipped the pot for a full double-up.
