Modans Cuts Nabavi's Stack in Half

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Davis Modans limped under the gun. Seyed Nabavi raised to 150,000 and got called by Joseph Brumpacheco on the button and David Munce in the small blind. When action went back to him, Modans re-raised to 700,000. Nabavi called making Brumpacheco and Munce fold.

The flop came AJ8. Modans kept the heat with 1,400,000 bet. Nabavi, unfazed, called. On the turn 7, Modans shoved all-in for 860,000 and Nabavi snap-called.

Seyed Nabavi: KQQ9

Modans flopped a set against Nabavi's pocket queens. The river 7 secured Modans double up by improving his hand to a full house.

Carlos De Lima raised from the cutoff to 150,000, Igor Zektser called from the button, and Vivian Saliba called from the big blind. The flop came out with 10A3, and everyone checked.

On the turn 5, Saliba and De Lima checked, and Zektser used his position to bet 300,000; only De Lima called.

The river A had both players check again. De Lima tabled A944 for trip aces, and Zektser mucked.

Willis Hits the Crazy Eights

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

William Smith limped from middle position, and Troy Vandelden raised to 300,000 from late position, leaving himself just 60,000 behind. Izotov Pavel in the small blind raised pot, and Daniel Willis called from the big blind as did Vandelden for his remaining 60,000.

The flop came 463 and Pavel checked to Willis, who bet out for 800,000, which was enough to put Pavel all-in. Pavel folded.

Vandelden had flopped the nut flush but had to dodge outs. The 8 on the turn gave Willis three pair, and then the miracle 8 peeled off on the river and gave Willis runner-runner full house to send Vandelden to the rail.
