Michael Hawker
Michael Hawker

One moment you're chip leader in the biggest poker tournament on Earth. The next, you're out the door, shell-shocked and wondering how it all went wrong.

That’s the brutal reality Michael Hawker faced on Day 5 of the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event. After going into the dinner break with a field-leading stack of 6,090,000 (152 big blinds), Hawker was eliminated within twenty minutes of returning, watching his dream unravel in sickening fashion.

Torres Forces a Fold from Ramos

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

In a blind versus blind pot, the flop read 26Q and Sergio Torres checked to Jose Ramos who checked as well.

The Q came on the turn and Torres bet 90,000. Ramos replied by raising to 250,000 and Torres called.

When the 4 hit the river, Torres checked. Ramos sent 500,000 in the middle and Torres raised it to 2,500,000.

"I knew it..." said Ramos jokingly. He considered it for some time before sending his cards into the muck.

Vincent Moscati
Vincent Moscati

In an unreal piece of luck, Vincent Moscati just drew his second $100,000 bounty chest of the tournament.

His mother, sister, and friends were all on the rail to celebrate with Moscati when the chest opened on the big screen.

Moscati has now locked up $201,500 in bounty prizes from the event, which is in fact more than a third-place finish of $164,090, and if he manages to pick up one of the remaining $25,000 chests, he would lock up higher than the second-place finish of $219,890.
