Rosenthal Takes Drama-filled Hand

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

James Boyles went all in for 20,000 chips under the gun, on a flop of K5J.

Sean Rosenthal, who was on the button, turned his cards over and according to him said, "I have a super-draw. I call."

Some players at the table said they didn't hear the latter part. When the dealer began to push the pot to Boyles, Rosenthal stopped him, because he thought he made the call.

When the floor came over, she determined that since no action was taken after Rosenthal exposed his cards — Boyles' cards were still face down — he could still make the call.

James Boyles: KQAll in
Sean Rosenthal: A10

Broyles had top pair with kings, but Rosenthal had an ace-high flush draw and a gutshot draw to a Broadway straight.

The dealer turned the A, giving Rosenthal the top pair. But players at the table pointed out that the dealer had already burned a card, so that ace wasn't the right card.

The dealer retrieved what was believed to be the proper turn card and it was the J,making Rosenthal's flush.

The 9 on the river ended the hand and Boyles' first entry.
