Manuel Fritz raised to 400,000 from the cutoff before Jun Obara raised to 1,100,000 from the big blind. Action folded back to Fritz, who moved all in for roughly 3,500,000, and Obara called immediately.
Manuel Fritz: J♠J♣
Jun Obara: Q♥Q♦
An unenviable situation for Fritz, who was at risk and dominated.
The runout was unable to offer any help, as the dealer provided a 7♦K♦3♣2♣5♥ board.
Philip Sternheimer open-jammed for around 2,650,000 from the cutoff and was called by the slightly covering stack of Vinny Lingham on the button.
Philip Sternheimer: Q♥J♥
Vinny Lingham: A♣K♣
The K♥7♦4♥ flop gave both players a piece as Sternheimer picked up a flush draw against the top pair of Lingham. Nothing changed on the 6♣ river before the K♦ landed on the river to improve Lingham to trips, and Sternheimer was left with just queen-high as he was eliminated.
Leonard Maue started the action with a raise to 400,000 in the hijack. Matthew Wantman responded with a three-bet to 960,000 from the cutoff. Action returned to Maeu, who four-bet shoved, covering Wantman.
Wantman called, and the players' cards were tabled.
Matthew Wantman: K♥K♦
Leonard Maue: 8♠8♥
There was no help for Maue on the 7♦6♥3♠7♠Q♦ runout, and Wantman received a full double-up.
Khoi Le Nguyen opened to 240,000 from early position before Masashi Oya jammed for 1,700,000 from the button, and Nguyen quickly called.
Masashi Oya: 4♥4♦
Khoi Le Nguyen: A♠Q♦
It was a coinflip scenario until the Q♣8♥3♦ flop vaulted Nguyen into the lead. Nothing changed on the 5♣J♣ runout as Nguyen held on the eliminate Oya in 14th.
Sergio Aido opened the cutoff to 240,000, Kyle Julius called all-in for 220,000 from the small blind, and Philip Sternheimer defended his big bling.
The K♥J♣9♥ flop checked through to the Q♣ turn which saw Sternheimer check-call a bet of 375,000 froom Aido.
On the 8♣ river, Sternheimer led for 550,000 and Aido laid it down after a small tank.
Kyle Julius: K♣Q♠
Philip Sternheimer: 10♦7♦
Julius was ahead on the flop with a pair of kings, but Sternheimer turned a straight to make the best hand as Julius had to settle for 15th after securing a pay jump.
Mathew Frankland started the action with a raise to 240,000 on the button. Manuel Fritz, in the big blind, responded with a three-bet to 740,000. Frankland then slid almost all of his chips into the middle, weary of the impending pay jump.
Fritz moved all in to commit Frankland, who made the call.
Mathew Frankland: A♥3♥
Manuel Fritz: Q♠Q♥
There was no help for Frankland on the 7♥10♠4♣4♠8♣ runout, who then gathered his things and headed to the exit.
Leonard Maue kicked the action off by moving all in, first to act, for 1,050,000. Action folded to Jovan Kenjic in the small blind, who called all in for slightly less.
Jovan Kenjic: 9♠9♥
Leonard Maue: A♦J♥
Kenjic flopped a full house on the 8♠8♦8♥ flop, but the A♣ turn gave Maue a better full house. The river 5♦ couldn't save Kenjic, who promptly departed.
