In a heads-up raised pot, the flop showed Q♦7♣3♥ and Ebony Kenney bet 10,000, which was called by Timo Kamphues.
The turn brought the 2♦ and this time Kenney checked. Kamphues bet 13,000 and after some thinking, Kenney raised it to 41,000. It was quickly folded by Kamphues.
Play was already underway on a pot of around 60,000 and a board of A♠3♠Q♠4♥ when Joshua Abiscott bet the pot while watching the stream on the big screen. Not paying attention to his heads-up opponent, Pavels Spirins shoved all-in for around 360,000.
The dealer announcing the all-in caught Abiscott's attention who only realized then that there was a possible flush on the board. Wanting to continue watching the exciting stream, he said, "F**k it!" and made the call putting himself at risk.
Joshua Abiscott: 4♣4♠
Pavels Spirins: A♥Q♥
Once the hands were tabled, all Abiscott said was, "Oh..." and prayed no ace or queen would fall on the river. The moment the K♥ was dealt, Abiscott continued watching the stream, commenting on it as the dealer pushed the pot in his direction.
Will Kassouf was on the right side of an aces versus kings clash this time around deep in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
It’s already been a Main Event run to remember, and the controversial Englishman was in the thick of it once again during Day 6 of poker’s World Championship.
A three-way all-in involved Ayman Alqarqaz in middle position, Nikolaos Angelou at risk for 121,000 from two seats over and Max Kruse in the hijack with 113,000.
Max Kruse: Q♥Q♠
Nikolaos Angelou: 10♦10♥
Ayman Alqarqaz: A♦A♣
Alqarqaz was on his way to score a double elimination, but on 9♥3♥K♥4♥2♠, both Kruse and Angelou hit a flush. Kruse had the best one so he tripled up, while Angelou was left with the side pot. "It was fun," Alqarqaz said despite losing the pot.
Paul Volpe raised under the gun to 12,000 and Davis Harari decided to three-bet in the cutoff to 36,000. It folded to Tony Miles in the big blind who tanked a minute and four-bet to 85,000. Volpe and Harrari opted to fold.
Thomas Lee raised to 12,000 from middle position, and action folded to Joe McKeehen in late position, who three-bet to 28,000. Lee contemplated for a while and then moved his remaining stack into the middle. McKeehen snap called and had Lee well covered.
Thomas Lee: 10♦10♣
Joe McKeehen: A♠A♦
No danger for McKeehen on the 9♦Q♥2♥ flop, but the K♣ on the turn gave Lee additional outs. The 2♠ brick on the river wasn't one of them, and he was sent to the rail whilst McKeehen pulled in the pot.
