Daniel Negreanu: A Legacy of Excellence in Poker

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu, a Canadian poker icon and current GGPoker Ambassador, has long been considered one of the game's all-time greats. A seven-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion, Negreanu most recently added to his impressive resume by winning the prestigious $50,000 Poker Players Championship in 2024.

Negreanu’s achievements span decades, and he is the only player to be named WSOP Player of the Year twice, first in 2004 and again in 2013. His consistent success and impact on the game earned him a well-deserved place in the Poker Hall of Fame in 2014.

In this game, the following hand occurred:
After raise-folding a bunch of hands, Negreanu raised from early position to 5,000 and was shocked that it almost made it through without a three-bet, but Sidney Smith decided to take his chance and three-bet all in for 18,000. Negreanu stated, "Alright, I am not folding this time."

Sidney Smith: K4 All in
Daniel Negreanu: AJ

Negreanu was relieved to see that the three-bet was very light and the board came out with 551078, and ace high with a pair of fives was good for the knockout.
