In the 906th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Kyna England, and Mike Holtz are back at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to discuss the latest news and highlights from the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP), including Daniel Negreanu suggesting that poker players shouldn't hesitate to call the clock on other slow-acting players.

The action was caught with two players looking at a board of 6♣5♦A♠9♠5♦. Michael Lynn, in the middle position, had 110,000 in chips in front of him. Ricardo Martinez had to make a difficult decision if he would make the call. After a few minutes in the tank, he threw in some chips to make it clear that he was calling.

Lynn immediately flipped his cards 5♥8♣ to show his set, and Martinez tossed his cards away.

Is Phil Hellmuth Intimidating? Hell Yeah

The poker legend Phil Hellmuth, also known as the “Poker Brat,” is considered by many to be the best tournament player in the world. The evidence speaks for itself with over $40,000,000 in tournament cashes and 17 World Series of Poker bracelets. His last bracelet was earned in 2023 at Event #72: Super Turbo Bounty, where he pocketed a tidy sum of $803,818 plus bounties.

Still going strong in the current tournament, here is a hand he played.

Laksh Singh raised to 8,000 from late position, Yuji Higaki called from the small blind, and Hellmuth called from the big blind. The flop arrived with 3♣8♣A♣, and both blinds checked to the preflop raiser. Singh put out 4,000, Higaki folded, and Hellmuth dropped 14,000 in for the raise. Singh quickly folded, and Hellmuth showed A♥3♠ for two pair, and scooped the pot.
