Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

"Was that the right size? I have no idea," Wasserson inquired and Maue shook his head.

One table over, Jakob Miegel opened the button to 80,000 and Isaac Kempton called from the big blind. Kempton check-called for 50,000 on the K104 flop before doing so again for 140,000 on the A turn. The 3 river was checked and Kempton tabled AJ, Miegel chopped with the AJ.

David Kaufman Eliminated in 17th Place ($50,843)

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
David Kaufmann
David Kaufmann

David Kaufmann jammed for his final 500,000 from the cutoff.

Gustavo Ortega chose to also go all-in from the button to isolate. The table folded, and Kaufmann was at risk.

David Kaufmann: KJAll in
Gustavo Ortega: AJ

Ortega's hand dominated Kaufmann's, and it would take some help for Kaufmann to stay in the tournament.

The flop was not ideal, but it did offer a sliver of hope as it came QA4 to give Kaufmann a gutshot to a straight.

The K turn gave Kaufmann some additional outs to spike trips, but the river did not bring any solace as it came the 9 to eliminate Kaufmann.

Kaufmann earned $50,843 for his 17th-place finish.

"One Bottle of Jack Please"

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Yuliyan Kolev
Yuliyan Kolev

Yuliyan Kolev raised to 80,000 in the cutoff and he then called a three-bet to 320,000 by Jakob Miegel in the small blind. On the 1076 flop, Miegel checked and called a bet of 210,000 by Kolev before the J on the turn was checked through. Miegel also checked the 9 on the river and as soon as Kolev verbally declared his bet, the cards of the German went into the muck.

While the hand was played, Daniel Negreanu had spoken with the floor to remind all players that only two out of three ways to cover the face were allowed such as hats, face masks and sunglasses. Players also have to remove their headphones from now on and need to step away from the tables entirely to check their phones.

Kolev concluded his next successful hand with a big smirk on the face and "one bottle of Jack please".

Piekazewicz Spins it Up

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Alisson Piekazewicz was down to 105,000 before he had a series of double-ups that culminated with an all-in clash with Sean Winter to get back into the tournament.

Sean Winter raised to 90,000 from under the gun and faced an all-in from Alisson Piekazewicz for 370,000. Winter gave it some thought before he called to put Piekazewicz at risk.

Alisson Piekazewicz: JJAll in
Sean Winter: A10

Piekazewicz was ahead with his pair of jacks and had to fade the immediate outs of an ace to double.

The KQK flop gave Winter some counterfeit opportunities, but they did not convert when the K turn and the 5 river rolled off to award Piekazewicz his third double in the first 10 minutes of the level.
